Months passed, and no one heard a thing from Berardo, while Regenia began to become concerned. It could mean one or two things; Ardo was scared, or he was building up an army. One thing was for sure; he would be behind the lines. The man was a coward who wanted the Don title, which he couldn't uphold. Over the months, Genia has seen Giuseppe take down enemies with his bare hands. He was never scared to fight head-on and do what he needed to protect his family. From what his family stated, that's what a real Don was supposed to do. Still, she feared he would be hurt, and she also feared for her mother, who decided against moving to Italy.
Zoey said she had a job to do, and it would be wrong for her to resign when her year had just started well. Her only concern was her daughters and if they were safe. Since the two of them were with Giuseppe, she didn't see any need to join them in Italy, but they did talk daily. However, she and Jacob had grown closer, and Regenia knew something was going on between them. She couldn't be happier for her mother, but Regenia had concerns if Jacob was taking the opportunity to regain control over New York. It was good because they knew Berardo couldn't do his damage; Jacob and Enzo stood together.
However, Regenia wondered if this would help. Or how long would things stay this peaceful? For four months, she and Giuseppe were able to hide her pregnancy, but now she had no chance. Regenia was about to be eight months pregnant, and Italy knew. It was all over the news and internet; pictures of her out and about with her little sister, the kids, Giuseppe, and more. They had no privacy, and she hated it, but she had one thing to be grateful about. She and her baby made it through Berardo's tortures, and it wouldn't be long before she held her little one in her arms.
"Mamma, when will we find out what you are having?"
"In a few hours. Me and your Padre wanted it to be a surprise, but your Aunties and Nonna want us to know. Are you excited?" Sienna gave her a big smile nodding her head. She was Regina's world. They both were, and she loved them like her own. "What do you want me to have?"
"A girl—"
"No, I want her to have a boy!"
"If Mamma has a girl, we came to play dress up, and I wouldn't have to torture you and our little brother. Maybe next time, she can have a boy. There will be a next time, wouldn't it, Mamma?" She asked as Regenia looked up to Giuseppe standing in the doorway. He smiled as he snuck up on his little princess while Domenico tried not to giggle. "What are you laughing at— AHH! That's not funny, Papà, and you didn't answer me, Mamma. Will there be another baby?"
"Will there be another baby, Uccellino?" Giuseppe asked as Regenia glared at him. She knew she wanted another, and the two spoke briefly about the situation. "Yeah, there will be another—"
"Si, maybe three more... no four to make it even. I hate odd numbers." He smirked, making Regenia roll her eyes. "Uccellino, have you thought more about our first gala? It's tradition for Donna to plan events." He spoke as Regenia's mind wandered by to Berardo for a second. Having a gala wasn't the best thing to do in her mind, but it was necessary so the aligned mafias could orchestrate their next movements and raise money for their foundations. In Regenia's cop mind, it was a way to launder money, but smart.
