Berardo wanted to make a move on Giuseppe and the others at the Governor's Ball, but he could see it would be a big mistake. He still had some pulled throughout New York, and one of his connections was able to get him a list of the people invited. By the look of it, Ardo didn't stand a chance against the invited people. Giuseppe would have tons of backup, something he needed until he had them. Berardo wasn't stepping out of nowhere in Manhattan.

It frustrated Berardo, and he couldn't believe everyone was on Giuseppe's side. He had so much more to offer these people but didn't know how to express it, which ended with Ardo crossing some of his best allies. Now, he had no one, leaving him with a few choices. Plus, Berardo wasn't a Romano, and everyone knew, which made things harder for him. "Wouldn't it be better if you called a truce?"

"Erica, have you lost your fucking mind? Even if I wanted to call a truce, there would be no way my cousin would trust me. It's either him or me; I would rather it be him. I swear I will kill myself before I allow Giuseppe or his wife to take my life. I wish it were another way, but I have burned my bridges with everyone else." Sadly, Berardo knew he was at the end of his war and had no one to help him. Therefore, Ardo had one of three choices: surrender himself to the authorities, allow Giuseppe to kill him, or kill himself. None of which he wanted to do. There had to be someone who wanted the same thing as him, but it was hard to find.

"Have you tried to contact any of the gangs? Maybe the Brooklyn Bloods could help; my brother is one of their members. I'm sure he could get the leader to help you."

"I'm not taking my chances with the Brooklyn Bloods. I never crossed them, but I know how the leader is. If he has wind of what I've been doing, he will kill me on the spot and send Giuseppe my body as a gift. So, no, I'll figure out something else instead." He spoke as his phone rang, showing an unknown number. No one ever called Ardo unless there was something wrong. This caused him to hesitate to answer, but he did it anyhow.

'Sì?'

'Aye, Berardo Romano my man! I heard you were calling around Manhattan looking for help to take down Giuseppe—'

'Who are you again?'

'Really big dawg, you don't know who I am? Wow, I'm hurt; tell me you heard about the 59th Street Gang.' Quickly, Berardo sat up, putting the leader of the 59th Street Gang on speaker. He could say this was a bit of a surprise, given that he tried to bring down his gang, but Isaac didn't need to know. He called for a reason, and this may be what Ardo needed.

'Isaac Roberts, you're a blessing in disguise. Has anyone ever told you that? Tell me, what did I do to deserve this call?'

'The streets talk, son, and I hear yooz has some beef with your kin. I can help yah with that. Why don't you met me tomorrow at my crib, and we can go over some shit. I know how family be wildin' on each other and sometimes we have to put them in their place. Whatcha say eight tomorrow, or do you need something earlier, big dawg?'
