"There she is." Zoey smiled, walking into Regenia and Giuseppe's home. Clearly, she wasn't looking for the two of them as she quickly b-lined straight to Gia's bassinet, completely ignoring them, which didn't surprise Regenia at all. She was glad to see her mother, although her only concern was her granddaughter. "Jacob, look how beautiful she is."
"Yeah, I can see it. I didn't think G could help create something as beautiful as her and our other little princess over there. I tell you, he's one ugly nigga—"
"Jacob, do I need to remind you that we have children here? We will not be using that language around them. No cussing, no use of the N-word, and we will show respect, or you can get the heck out of my house." Regenia smiled as Sienna and Dom laughed. Giuseppe held a smirk because he knew Regina's rules when they were around the children, and she hated for them to curse in front of them. They were still young, which meant they were picking up everything they said. "You should know this. Don't you have children?"
"Actually, I don't. I was hoping your mother could come through for me before it was too late." J spoke as they all looked at each other, then back at the two, smiling down at Giovanna. Regenia was shocked to learn Jacob didn't have children, but she never knew him to have a serious relationship until now. Thinking back on it now, he was never seen leaving the club with different women, and he didn't like putting himself out there.
"Oh, I never thought someone like you didn't have children. Most like to throw around their money to get women in their... you know."
"It's called being prudent, GG. I didn't want just anyone to have my child. It causes problems— if anyone should know that Giuseppe would. If I must be truthful, I had a son. His mother was a little on the crazy side, and I didn't know it until it was too late. I was fighting for custody, and the state wouldn't listen to my side of the story when I told them she was a danger to him and herself. She killed him and then turned the gun on herself. After that, I vowed never to have a child with just anyone. I saw something in you when I first met you, but you weren't meant to be with me." Jacob spoke as Isla looked between him and her with a frown.
"Ewww, you used to date my sister—"
"HELL NO!" Regenia yelled as she quickly covered her mouth, shaking her head. "No, Jacob tried to take me out one time. It was after he helped save my life. I turned him down, and that was it. There was no dating involved, Isla." She explained as Giuseppe and Jacob laughed. Although she didn't think a damn thing was funny, they were enjoying their conversation.
"I'm glad to hear that. Mom, are you considering having another baby? I mean, Genia and I could use a little brother... or a sister." She smiled as Zoey waved her hand at her. "I wish I could, but I had some complications after giving birth to Isla Jacob. They saved a few of my eggs... with a surrogate, I can give you a child. Anything other than that, you have to find someone else." She sighed as Jacob touched her hand.
"Then we will find a surrogate. I love you, Zoey. I didn't tell you that for nothing. I have found my soulmate, baby, and it's you."
"This is sickening to hear— wait, is that an engagement ring?! He proposed, and you didn't think to tell me or Regenia Momma!" Isla spoke upset as Regenia looked at her mother's hand and then back at Giuseppe. Zoey sighed, shaking her head while slowly taking a seat. She and Jacob had been hot and heavy for almost a year, and it didn't surprise Regenia that he wanted to put a ring on their mother's finger quick as he could. They were the power couple of New York. She was the governor, and he was one of the big mafia bosses in the state. Together, they could rule New York, and nothing would stop them. Everyone was scared to speak against her mother, and they didn't dare mention Jacob's name.
