Giuseppe allowed Regenia the time to catch up on her sleep. He knew having a newborn and two young children was stressing her out. Then he came along and threw the arranged marriage contracts in her lap. It was wrong of him to do, but it was business, and everyone was on the same page. Surprisingly, the teens were willing to follow his suggestion, but Giuse was sure Isla would be the first one screaming his head off. Over the months, the girl had come to understand the way of their life. She was willing to learn, and against his wife's orders, he was teaching her to fight.
Regenia wanted to keep her little sister away from the danger, but Giuse knew that was a false promise. As long as Isla was related to his queen, she would always be in danger of their enemies. Not knowing how to protect herself put Isla in the center of Berardo's rage, which caused another worry. Ardo had been too quiet for Giuseppe's liking. A month and a half had passed since his father's passing, and neither of them had heard a word from Berardo besides what he had done to Noah's home. It was concerning, but Giuseppe knew he was out looking for new recruits, and his attempt to kill Noah was because he knew Giuseppe had the upper hand.
"May I speak to you?" Isla spoke, breaking Giuseppe's thought process. Slowly, he turned to his sister-in-law, who had a concerned look. This was the first time he actually paid attention to the young girl, realizing how much she and his wife looked alike. Isla was a beautiful young girl, and he hated himself for asking her to marry someone she didn't know. It wasn't fair for them to pick the person she was to love.
"Si, have a seat."
"Is she mad?" Isla asked, making Giuse arch a brow. Out of everything she could have asked him, she was worried about her sister being mad. That was sweet of her, but Regenia was more frustrated about Berardo than her little sister marrying a man she didn't know. Maybe it was because she had done the same a year before. "I think she's more upset with Berardo than you agreeing to marry Enzo. I want you to understand; you don't have to do this if you don't want to. The contracts have not been written, and I can have him marry my little cousin Bria."
"Bria is dating Dante, and I would hate to break them up, Giuse. I'm a big girl; I can take care of myself— but think you for being concerned about me." She sighed while he studied her face. Something was on her mind, and he didn't want to push the girl. Therefore, he sat there and waited until she started to speak again until something else hit him. "Wait... I thought one of you said Dante was gay." He spoke as Isla shrugged her shoulders with a smile smirk. They lied, and he and his wife fell for it.
"I don't know if I told you, but I'm sorry about your dad. He was nice to me, almost like the father I never had. You too, I never had a male... A father figure in my life. It was always work... work... work with my Mom, but I love her. Still, I was mostly left with a nanny; she was the only person I had besides her. After moving here, I gained more family, and somehow, I started looking at you as a father figure than a brother-in-law and my sister as my mother. I will do anything for this family. Therefore, I— I need you to teach me how to be a perfect wife to Enzo... how to be a Donna." She said as the last part quickly rushed past her lips. Giuseppe smiled brightly at the girl, shaking his head.
