Jade eyes stare out large open barn doors watching a sleek red horse graze in a field the color of his own eyes.Izuku's thoughts are miles away as he stands leaning against the open door way with a heavy heart.
Weeks have flown by so quickly he can hardly believe that tomorrow he will be leaving once again to head back to America.
He's been here before, been locked in a tangled web of these feelings not all that long ago when he had to leave Katsuki's side for what he thought would be his final race. But he was wrong, and now here he is once again with weepy eyes and an aching chest, anxiety on the rise.
The voice of his adoptive father is suddenly heard from behind him.
" You ok kid? Ready to do this?", he ask carefully, though he already knows the answer.
Izuku doesn't turn around only keeps eyes that want to pour waterfalls on his horse in the nearby field.
" I'll never be ready to leave Kacchan, never. It's something that feels more painful every time I've been forced to do it."
His tone is dull sounding, bitter almost and Aizawa knows some of that is probably directed at him.
The raven-eyed male sighs.
" I'm aware. The first time I had to take you away from him after your mother passed was one of the hardest, the second time you had no choice other than to fulfill your riding contract, this time I'm aware is my doing once again, but I felt it necessary to defend your name and title. You've been my son for a number of years now Izuku, your name being tarnished or your character being challenged cuts me deeply. I felt the need for you to make sure the record is clear, but I don't blame you or Katsuki if you feel resentment towards me at the moment."
Izuku turns around meeting his dad's eyes, ones that he can tell hold a heaviness of their own. He smiles slightly shaking his head.
" No old man, I don't resent you. I understand why you want me to go and do this, more for myself then you. I don't mean to come across upset with you, I'm just upset to be leaving. Kacchan is my rock, has been since we were kids, any distance from him especially now that we're married is extremely difficult, for us both. And if I'm honest now that he's asked Kiri to come with me I'm worried about all the extra work he's going go have to cover. He already works so many hours, now it'll be no doubt more.", Izuku says as he bites the inside of his cheek with the thought.
Aizawa gives his son a smile with a light chuckle.
" Don't you worry about that hot headed husband of yours kid. There are some people in this world who can perform well under pressure, they seem to thrive off it. Your husband is one of them. Katsuki is more than capable of handling his business and then some."
Izuku smiles with pride thinking of the blonde he's always loved. It's true that the man he married knows how to handle pressures that might break down most people, Katsuki was strong both mentally and physically and he often made running his busy, successful motorcycle shop look easy. He thinks back to senior year of high school when Katsuki had shared that dream with him.
They had been out on a late night summer ride when the blonde had pulled over to some secluded spot where they had a teenage make out session under the cover of cherry trees in an orchard. Afterward they were laying on Katsuki's leather jacket that today belongs to Izuku. While they gazed up at the stars on a warm night Katsuki told his boyfriend about his goal.
" I'm gonna do it one day Deku, right out of school. I'm going to work my ass off and save every fucking penny, even get a loan from my parents if I absolutely have to buy that garage downtown and start my own shop. Old man Lockwood tells me I'm the best mechanic he's ever taught and that I have an natural ability for it. No way Im going to be stuck in some shit job for the rest of my life that i hate. Fuck that, I'm gonna do it baby, watch me."
