Kirishima takes a deep breath hearing his best friend on the line. Katsuki already sounds pissed off and he hasn't even heard the details yet, details the redhead knows could put his own life on the line here. That pissed off voice breaks in with sharp inpatients." Oi, you better start talking, cause I know damn well the reason you called was to tell me something bad, I can feel it in my god damn bones, so let's hear it."
Kirishima laughs nervously.
" Hey man, you don't know for sure if it's bad. Maybe I just missed hearing you yell at me."
Katsuki's last string of patience is slowly breaking. He's tired, he's worried and frustrated and in no mood for games."
"Eijiro"
Kiri immediately cringes at the sound of his own name because the blonde on the other end hardly ever uses it and when he does it's already too late.
" Alright look man. I need you to not.. you know kill anybody or put a hit on my life and you gotta promise me you'll at least try to stay calm.".
Katsuki is already pacing with anger in his chest.
" Fuck that. You should know better. And anytime anyone says stay calm that means there's a good fucking reason not to stay calm so you better tell me what the hell is going on and do it now.", he snaps back feeling the tension in his forehead.
There's a slight pause as Kirishima gathers the nerve to tell him what he knows is going to hit like a truck.
A blonde mechanic is at his limit.
" I swear to God you better fucking say something."
" Ok man.. listen ..it's just Mido, he's not doing so good here lately."
Katsuki's stomach immediately knots. He already knew something was off with his husband, but the conformation of it makes worry invade his chest making it feel tight.
"What's that mean exactly and you better not leave anything out.", he breathes out as he sits down closing his eye, large fingers pinching the bridge of his nose as he listens closely to what's about to be said.
Kirishima leans against one of the barns outside in a far away corner sighing ad he continues. It's too late to turn back now.
"First he hasn't been eating, and it's definitely starting to show and before you blow up at me man it's not like I haven't been trying because I have been but he's not always honest with me cause he doesn't want me to worry, so he makes it look like he eats or tells me he has."
The tension in Katsuki's head and chest are both growing as he sits unmoving, head down fingers still pinching the bridge of his nose, crimson eyes closed as he listens.
" What else? I know there's more.", he questions in a low tone that has Kirishima worried already.
" Well, he's been hurt. Twice now."
Crimson eyes open slowly then narrow in a dark apartment while his fist ball.
"Hurt how? Every detail, don't you dare leave anything out."..
" First time, the stirrup on his saddle came like completely off when he was getting on King. Like it just snapped off and he fell hard hurting his ankle, he tried to tell me it was getting better and he had been icing it and stuff but to be honest I can still see a limp, one that he tries to hide cause .. you know how he is bro."
Katsuki does know him, knows him better than anyone ever will.
" He wasn't checked out?? That shit should have been looked at immediately by a doctor.", he snaps up on his feet now.
