To say that Avana was outraged would be an understatement.
Over the course of the entire annual camping trip, Rowan had not once made a move. He had barely even spoken to her and seemed oddly distant, looking like he was constantly daydreaming or caught up in his own thoughts.
He was supposed to have immediately fallen irrevocably, overwhelmingly, vehemently, passionately, in love with her. Yet in the past week they had barely spoken.
There was only one solution that Avana could think of: return to the Improbus Mercatus and give the merchant a piece of her mind. So instead of going home after the camp, Avana found herself walking into the unscrupulous market for the second time in two weeks.
It did not take her long to reach the stall she had been looking for.
"How dare you sell me a fake potion, especially one I paid one hundred gold coins for." Avana seethed. The merchant looked up bewildered, until recognition dawned on him.
"Oh, it's you again." The merchant uttered, rolling his eyes. "I can proudly say that I do not sell any fake potions or elixirs, only one hundred percent authentic and effective products."
"If that is the case, then why did the love potion you sold me not work?" Avana hissed.
"Well there are many reasons why you have not seen the desired effects yet. Perhaps you used the wrong amount, I had clearly told you to only apply one drop to each eye, or perhaps you were not the first person he saw once he woke up, or-"
"No and no. I made sure to use the right amount and I made sure to be the first person he saw." Avana snapped.
"Well in that case I can't help you, I do not now why he has not fallen in love with you yet. However I can assure that once someone is under the spell of the potion, if they choose to attempt to ignore the feelings or refuse to profess their love for the person they first saw once they woke up, their feelings will only intensify. Essentially the more they resist the potion, the more the feelings are heightened. But I suggest you run along home and figure it out on your own, the Improbus Mercatus is no place for a young faery such as yourself."
Avana was incensed, however she had no choice but to comply.
