Reena Tansy was born on April 23rd, at precisely 11:33 AM, at Tansy manor.
When Fae are born, they are cherished, spoiled and adored, because creating life was considered a rare and special gift. Except when Reena was born, she was not cherished or spoiled, or adored. The truth was, she wasn't entirely a faery.
Her mother, Vayra Tansy, had not only cheated on her husband, Adonis Tansy, but she had done so with a human, a mortal, a lower form of life. It only happened once, but once was enough for her to get pregnant.
When she found out that she was pregnant, she lied to herself, told herself that the baby had to be Adonis', that there was no way the human could have gotten her pregnant, because it had only happened once. But when Reena was born, she was undeniably half human; the tips of her ears were round, not pointy, she was not affected when iron touched her skin and it would later be found out that that she had the ability to resist and see through glamour, despite being unable to use it herself.
Adonis had a history of being violent. He had previously hit and abused Vayra countless times for reasons she could, and could not control, so naturally when he realised that Reena was not his child, his rage consumed him. He started to scream and insult her, so, in a state of despair, she grabbed the closest deadly object she could find, a small dagger that had been on display in their manor, and when Adonis approached her with fury in his eyes, she ran the dagger through his heart and watched as the life seeped out of him.
Vayra was sentenced to death for her crimes and Reena was sent to live with her mother's sister, Nula Privet, who took care of her and raised her like her own.
