Hogwart's new headmaster part 1

Severus woke in the middle of the night. At first, he was confused where he was, but after a few seconds, he remembered the ritual in Gringotts. He quickly searched for his new wand and cast Lumos to see if the mark was really gone. With trembling fingers, he rolled up his sleeve and stared at the now blank place, where it had been. His skin was still red, but there was no pain or feeling something moving under his skin. He could also no longer feel his magic leaving his body.

Then he begun to giggle, or was he sobbing?, no matter, Severus was free. It was the first time since he got the mark, that he finally felt free again.

"Ssseverusss?"

"Nagini, I'm free, I'm really free."

"Yesss, Ssseverusss. Tom hasss no claim over you anymore. He cannot hurt you again." Nagini moved her head under Severus shin, nuzzling him.

"But, he will still try to get me back." His mood soured.

"Yesss, but you have people who will protect you and the hatchlingsss. Without the mark, it will alssso allow you to gain more of your own magic back. And don't forget that he cannot enter the cassstle."

"But he did it once, even if he wasn't a human that time."

"True, but he won't be able to do it now."

"You seem very sure about it."

"Hmm. The cassstle hasss changed. I can feel it."

"What do you mean? Had Dumbledore changed the wards?"

"No. I cannot feel the magic from the old coot in the wardsss any longer."

"What? Wait. Since when can you feel the wards?"

"It'sss an ability of my kind. We can feel the magic around usss. The familiar bond jussst intensssify it."

"I see. However, if Dumbledore has no influence on the wards any longer, then who controls them?"

"Hogwartsss."

"I don't understand. When Dumbledore isn't strengthening the wards, how could they still be there?"

"Don't forget that the cassstle isss very old. It'sss alssso the cassstle that decidesss who the next head is."

"Really? I hear that for the first time. Does it mean Hogwarts deamed Dumbledore no longer worthy to be the headmaster?"

"Yesss."

"And who will replace Dumbledore? Hogwarts won't be able to put up the wards, if there is no wixen to stabilize them or doesn't it need anyone?"

"I don't know."

"Hopefully, the next headmaster or headmistress will do a better job. I hadn't thought I would witness how Dumbledore would be kicked out. Minerva would be a good choice. She may had made some mistakes in the past, but no one is without any flaws, but she loves the children and is a great deputy. I wouldn't be surprised if Hogwarts chooses her."

"We will find out sssoon."

"Why have I the feeling you know more? Is there a secret club, because somehow I fell I'm missing something.", muttered Severus.

"Oh Ssseverusss, don't worry, my hatchling. Everything is alright."

"Hmpf. Where are Silvana and Timothy?" Severus scoffed before he wondered where his children are. It wasn't the first time that he woke up without Silvana, but he felt how his hands begin to shake.

It was a week before the Diagon Alley fiasco, when Silvana slept for the first time in another room together with Harry. Silvana and Harry were in the living room, when the little girl fell asleep. Harry wanted to bring her to Severus' room, but he had ask if Harry could take the girl in his room. He wanted to try, if he was able to sleep without her. After all, someday Silvana would be too big to sleep on him or with him and Severus wanted to test how bad his anxiety might be, if Silvana isn't with him.
