Nick's heart pounded in his chest as he held the loaded gun firmly in his trembling hands. The cold barrel pressed against Holly's temple, her eyes filled with terror as tears streaked down her face. Larry watched in horror, paralyzed by the gravity of the situation. "Give me the combination, Larry. Now!" demanded Nick, his voice quivering with a mixture of fear and desperation. Larry's face contorted into a twisted smile, his eyes filled with an unsettling coldness. "She's just a trophy wife, Nick. I can always get another one. You're the fool here for thinking she means anything to me." Nick was taken aback by Larry's callous response. He had expected fear, pleas, or even a fight, but this indifference shattered his understanding of the man he thought he knew. Fury ignited within Holly's eyes as she glared at Larry. "You heartless monster! The combination is 4-8-2-6!" Nick's grip on the gun loosened slightly as Holly yelled out the code. He swiftly untied Holly from her restraints, his mind conflicted between gratitude and confusion. Without another word, Nick snatched the bag of money from the safe and hastily exited. Holly was excited to finally have a roommate to share her apartment with. She had been looking forward to meeting her new roommate, Jackie, who was supposed to move in the following day. However, Holly was surprised when Jackie showed up a day early. As she greeted Jackie, Holly was caught off guard by her roommate's skin color. In her nervousness, she blurted out, "Hi, Jackie. You're black." She immediately regretted her words and tried to backtrack. But her attempts at apologizing only made things worse. Feeling embarrassed and ashamed, Holly tried to make it up to Jackie by not acting racist towards her. But in her eagerness to show that she was not racist, she only ended up making things worse. Holly's attempts to be friendly and welcoming only made Jackie more uncomfortable. She began to avoid Holly and spent most of her time in her room. But one day, Jackie invited Holly to join her in celebrating Juneteenth. Holly accepted and was surprised to find how much she enjoyed spending time with her roommate. She realized that her initial mistakes had caused a rift between them, but with time and effort, they were able to develop a strong bond.Holly and Jacqui had just met and Holly was ecstatic to finally meet her twin sister's best friend. However, when Holly called Jacqui "Jackie," she was shocked by Jacqui's reaction. Jacqui accused Holly of being a racist and made assumptions about her character based on a simple mistake. Holly was hurt and confused, as she had never been accused of such a thing before. In an attempt to make things better, Holly offered to cook Jacqui her favorite meal. But no matter what Holly said or did, Jacqui remained skeptical of her intentions. Holly even resorted to speaking in jive, which only made things worse. One day, Jacqui had finally had enough and lashed out at Holly. She accused her of not understanding the struggles of being a black woman and disrespected her by assuming she couldn't dance. But Holly surprised Jacqui by busting out some funky dance moves to hip hop music, leaving Jacqui stunned. Jacqui realized that she had been too quick to judge Holly and that she was actually a cool person who just wanted to be her friend. They started dating, much to the surprise of Jackie, and the two became inseparable. Jacqui learned that it's important to give white people credit.
