Faded Echoes of Yesterday

Once, you were the rhythm of my every heartbeat,
But now, as I reflect on you, my vision's incomplete.
A blurry image lingers, elusive and unclear,
You're nowhere to be found, and it fills me with fear.

Yet, remnants of you remain, like fish bones hidden deep,
Within subterranean caverns, secrets they keep.
Should I cast you away, sever ties, and let go,
Or let you linger, piercing my throat, a bittersweet echo?

I cannot view you solely as a bearer of pain,
For once, you were my solace, my best painkiller, a refrain.
How swiftly life changed, caught me unaware,
Unable to digest the swiftness, a burden too hard to bear.

In this paradox, I wander, lost and forlorn,
Grasping at faded echoes of a love once adorned.
Aching for answers, longing for understanding,
As time moves on, leaving my heart demanding.

Yet, amidst the ache, I search for strength to prevail,
To heal the wounds, rebuild, and lift the veil.
For though you've vanished, a ghost of what we were,
I'll carry the lessons learned, and my spirit will stir.

In the depths of this journey, I'll find my way,
Embracing the changes, and brighter skies will portray.
Though memories may haunt, I'll strive to be free,
From the weight of what once was, to embrace what will be.
