Carter's POV
Someone needs to remind me to not take one class a day next semester. I come all the way to the university for a 50 minute class.
Now I'm sitting on the bench waiting for Bre to finish so we can plan the party.
I told Mama about the secretary and what people have been saying and she thought it would be best for them to get out of town for a few days. Of course Mom wouldn't leave because she was worried about me but after a little convincing she gave in.
The secretary was fired within one hour of me telling Mama. I also came to find out that the luxury house that we live in Mom bought for us with her money. So Mama and I spread the news discreetly without anyone knowing it was us and now the whole street praises Mom.
Now the person they're bad mouthing is Mama for being a millionaire and not spending a dime on her family which is of course not true. These people just want to talk about something and Mama said it rather be her than Mom.
So them leaving leaves the house all to me for three days. Which means party time.
"Hey shithead." Bre throws something at me snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Are you all done?" I ask.
She sits down next to me, "Yeah. So when do you want to have the party?"
"Tomorrow night."
"Where are we gonna get drinks."
"I can borrow some from the club."
Bre chuckles, "Your mom is gonna kill you one of these days."
"She orders extra drinks I can grab us a few she'll never notice."
Bre turns her body so she's facing me completely, "She always does and you know it."
I smile, "I'll face the consequences later."
I look away from her and regret it immediately. My eyes land on Michelle and I can't help but groan. She sees me and waves at me.
"Oh great my day just went to shit."
Bre frowns, "What? Why?"
I don't have time to respond to her because Michelle reaches us.
"Hey Carter."
I stand up, "Hi Michelle, you're still in town?"
She nods, "Yeah I'm sticking around a little longer."
Great. Just great.
"Well what are you doing here?" In my college to be precise but I'm too nice to say that.
"I was actually looking for you Carter."
Bre gives me a questionable look and I do the same, "For what?"
She steps a little closer to me, "I wanted to see if you wanted to hangout. You know like old times.
"Actually we're having a party at Carter's house tomorrow you're welcome to join." Bre tells her and I resist the urge to slap her.
"But if you're not free we completely understand." Please don't be free. Please don't be free.
"I'd love to. Usual time?" She asks.
"Yeah usual time." I force the words out my mouth.
She steps even closer to me, "Alrighty then I'm gonna get going. See you tomorrow." Before I can comprehend what's happening she leans in and pecks my lips.
I stumble back shocked and she just smiles and leaves me. My head immediately turns to look around and to my surprise Riley is standing on the top of the stairs.
