Riley's POV
"Pass me the controller, you little shit," Sofia grumbles, launching a cushion at Carter, who dodges it with a smug grin on her face.
It's been two months since Sofia and Olivia's wedding, and things have settled into this easy, comfortable routine. Well, mostly
comfortable—when Sofia and Carter aren't trash-talking each other over video games. We've all decided to move to Italy. Everyone wanted to be by each other after everything that happened. It's honestly nice having everyone be in the same place.
Olivia and Sofia stop by and visit us once a week. We have game nights and just hangout.
Carter laughs, holding the controller just out of Sofia's reach. "I'd love to, but I'm kind of in the middle of kicking your ass right now."
Sofia rolls her eyes, snatching up another cushion. "You're gonna regret that."
I sit on the couch, watching them go back and forth, shaking my head with a smile. This is what life has been like lately—chaotic, loud, and full of moments like this, where they act like they're still teenagers.
Maya toddles over, clutching her stuffed bunny, and climbs up onto my lap, her eyes glued to the screen. "Are they fighting again, Mommy?"
I chuckle, smoothing down her curls. "They're just playing, sweetie. Aunt Sof and Carter like to act tough, but it's all for show."
Maya giggles, clearly not buying it. "Aunt Sof is funny when she's mad."
Sofia pauses mid-game, turning to give Maya a mock glare. "I heard that, you little traitor."
Maya bursts into laughter, burying her face in my chest. "Sorry, Aunt Sof!"
I shake my head, holding Maya close. It's
moments like this, with the people I love most around me, that make everything worth it.Just then, Olivia walks into the room, cradling one of the twins in her arms, while the other rests comfortably in a carrier strapped to her chest. "What's going on in here?" she asks, raising an eyebrow at the scene unfolding before her.
"Your wife's losing at Mario Kart," Carter says, her tone full of mock pity.
Sofia throws up her hands, clearly done with the game. "Okay, I'll admit defeat—for now. But I'm coming for that crown later."
Carter smirks. "I'll be waiting."
Olivia shakes her head with an affectionate smile and looks at me. "Do they ever grow up?"
I shrug, grinning. "Not a chance."
She laughs and walks over to sit beside me, gently bouncing the baby in her arms. Sofia walks over and takes their daughter from Olivia.
"You're just so adorable Blake." She cooes at their daughter.
Blake gurgles happily in response, her tiny hand reaching out and grabbing a fistful of Sofia's shirt
She leans down to nuzzle her daughter's cheek.
"Of course she's adorable," Carter teases, "I mean look at her aunt she has my genes."
Sofia shoots her a look, half-amused, half-exasperated. "Please, this kid is all me. That's why she's so chill."
Olivia rolls her eyes, adjusting the twin strapped to her chest. "Let's not start debating who's responsible for the cute genes again. We all know it's me," she says, raising an eyebrow at Sofia.
Sofia winks at her wife, "All you baby." She gently tickles Blake's belly, making her giggle.
Maya wiggles out of my lap and toddles over to Olivia, "Can I hold Matteo Aunt Liv?"
