Chapter 15: Swim Class

               Some time after lunch, "Greetings, students." Lilac said. "I'm Miss Lilac and I am the swimming instructor, here at Royal Academy."

                "Um, Miss Lilac." River said. "You do realize we are in this class because we wear necklaces, right?"

                     "I know." Lilac replied. "I wear one, as well."

                       "Ya do?" River asked in disbelief.

                         "Yep." Lilac replied. "Observe." Lilac then grabbed at the necklace that hung around her neck, and jumped into the air.  At the height of her jump, Lilac changed into her mermaid form and landed in the water.

                               "Hey, I did that trick during the camping trip me, Twinkle, Raina, and River all went on." Shimmer exclaimed.

                                  "Oh. Show me." Lilac said.

                                     "Ok." Shimmer replied as she the heart shaped gemstone that hung on a golden necklace in her hair and jumped. At the height of her jump, Shimmer changed into her mermaid form, her necklace moved from being in her hair to being around her neck just as she landed in the water.

                                    "Well done, Shimmer." Lilac said. "Who's next?"

                                       "I'll go." River replied.

                                       "River, remember what happened last time?" Raina asked.

                                         "Oh come on, Raina." River said. "I've got it, this time." River then tried to do what Shimmer and the teacher did. However, instead of landing perfectly into the water, she belly flopped. "Ugh, how? I practiced." River exclaimer in frustration after she righted herself.

                                             Raina sat down on the floor, turned into her mermaid form, slid into the pool and swam towards her sister. "I warned you."

                                             "I know." River replied. "I should've listened to you."

                                                "It's all good." Raina said.

                                                  "Are you alright, River?" Lilac asked.

                                                    "Yes, Miss Lilac." River replied.

                                                         "Oh, good." Lilac said. "Who's next?"

                                                        "Um, I'll go." Coral replied as she turned into her mermaid form before jumping into the water.

                 "What an unconventional way to enter the pool!" Lilac exclaimed. "However, I approve."

                                                   "Thanks, Miss Lilac." Coral replied.

                                                      "You're welcome." Lilac said. "Hmm, how about you go next?" 

                                                         "Me?" the light orange girl with pink and blue hair that Miss Lilac was pointing at asked in disbelief.

                                                             "Yes." Lilac replied. "So, how about it?"

                                                              The girl swallowed. "Ok." the girl then proceeded to grab at the necklace in her hair and ran towards the pool, in order to jump into it. However, she was running too fast and slipped right before she transformed and hit the water.

                                                         "Oh, my." Lilac exclaimed as she swam over. "Are you alright, Shell?"

                                                        "Yes, Miss Lilac." Shell replied. 

                                                           "Good." Lilac said. "Twinkle, what about you? You're the last one."

                                                             "Alright, Miss Lilac." Twinkle replied as she grabbed the gemstone that hung on a golden necklace in her hair and jumped into the pool. Her necklace moved from being in her hair to being around her neck just as she landed in the water.

                                             "Excellent. Now that we are all in our mermaid forms, class can begin." Lilac announced as she did indeed start class.
