Chapter 7

*In the morning at Bower's Castle*

Kayla was still asleep within her room peacefully, Until there was a couple of loud knocks on her room door, which scared her awake and made her jump out of the bed quickly as she quickly looks around and then hears the two knocks at the door again. "Who is it...?" Kayla said as she rubbed her eyes a bit since she still felt a bit sleepy but, she hears a voice coming from the other side of the door, it was Bowser "Kayla, Are you up? Breakfast is ready." Bowser said loud enough for her to hear and he walked downstairs to wait for her. Kayla slowly gets out of bed, She stretches her arms over her head as she gets dressed up to head downstairs to eat while she finishes getting dressed, she thinks about what Princess Peach said...about telling Bowser if he has feelings for her or not...she wanted to tell him so bad...but, she wanted to wait a bit to see how he acts. Maybe them almost kissing was just by mistake right...? It could be so within the moment and everything going on. Then, she just quickly shakes her head and brushes it to the said "It can wait Kayla...it can wait..." She said to herself as she quickly walks to her room door and opens it as she walks out of the room and then shuts the door behind her. Kayla quickly walks down the stairs and slowly walks to the kitchen to see Bowser waiting for for at the front opening of the kitchen. Bowser looks over, he see's Kayla standing there and he gives her an sincere smile "Hey, did you sleep well last night?" Bowser asked as he tilted his head to the side while he waited for her to answer his question. Kayla blinks for a moment but, she shakes her head and gives him a soft smile "Yea, I slept well Bowser, thank you for asking and how did you sleep?" Kayla asked as she walks over to his side and they both walked into the kitchen together.

"I slept alright, I usually get up early to make sure everything is running smoothly within the kingdom. But yes, I did sleep alright." Bowser simply said as the two walk over to the table and he quickly pulls a chair out just for her "Here you go my lady." He smiled as Kayla felt her checks heat up as her cheeks turn a little pink and she sits down on the chair while Bowser pushes in her chair gently "Thank you Bowser, that is very nice of you." Kayla said as she gave him a soft smile causing Bowser's cheeks to flush a little red as he clears his throat and looks away quickly "Y-Your welcome." Bowser said calmly as he tried to hide it the best he could. Kayla just looked at him for a bit but, she looks down as a couple of his workers brought the food and drinks for them onto the table. Bowser walked to the other side of the table and sat down and looks up at Kayla for a moment as she took a sip from her cup "I'm sorry about what happened yesterday, I didn't know they were all going to do that and wanted to see you....more likely to take you away from me..." Bowser said calmly but, Kayla noticed the look in his eyes looked...almost sad in a way when he said that "Oh no its fine, I know their worried about me so I understand." Kayla said calmly as she sits her cup down to look at him since she could tell in his eyes he didn't want her to leave...for some reason...maybe he feels the same about her? She didn't really know at this moment but, she wanted to be sure to fully make sure he quickly feels the same for her or tell him how she feels when the time feels right.

Kayla just decided to try to ask him the question since she was wanting to know if he did like her or not"Hey Bowser, may I ask you a question...?" Kayla asked as she started to eat a bit of the food that was cooked, it was actually really good. "Oh, yea sure Kayla ask away. What is it?" Bowser asked her as he tilted his head to the side, he looks at her as Kayla finished the bite she took and was about to say it but stopped and got scared to say her question..."D-Dan it why now!?" Kayla thought as she rubbed her arm a tiny bit. She took a deep breathe in and out and just decided to skip that question for right now "Do you actually love Princess Peach or anyone...? L-Like romantically?" Kayla stuttered a bit at the question, Bowser just looks at her a bit shocked at her question but, he wanted to answer her honestly "I mean, yea I used to like Peach...I really thought she was pretty but, she didn't like me back since I'm...well this...and causing so many problems and destruction on her kingdom and other places...." Bowser rubs his neck and he looks down at the table as he didn't seem to look back up at her. Kayla looks at him and she blinks for a moment, she felt bad for asking the question but, she didn't want to say the other question she really wanted to ask. Most of the time Breakfast was quiet after Kayla asked that question to Bowser.

*After Breakfast*

Kayla was outside on the castle balcony looking out at the view as she put her arms on the fencing as she let out a deep sigh "Gosh, Why did I ask that question to him...? He seemed so upset when I asked him that....I should've told him my real question, If he liked me or not..." She thought as she rubbed her face a bit feeling bad about not asking the real question to him but she got scared, she didn't want to know the truth or not...or get hurt in the processes. Then, she noticed Bowser outside destroying some of the dummies, which made her feel even more bad about what she asked because he probably felt hurt from the question.

*Meanwhile with Bowser*

Bowser was blowing off some steam and blows fire at some dummies outside of castle, While that was going on, Kamek walked in cautiously slowly as he got close enough he cleared his throat to get Bowser's attention "M-My lord, may you calm down for a moment...?" Kamek asked nervously as Bowser turned his head and snorted smoke at his face but, he decided to calm down a bit and then crosses his arms "What is it Kamek, can't you see I'm busy..."  Bowser stated as he looked away from Kamek. Kamek looked at him still as he lets out a heavy sigh, shaking his head from side to side "My lord, I know your upset about what Kayla said but, I don't she meant any harm. Besides, I can tell she cares about you...maybe do something special for her in return...?" He suggested, which Bowser looked over at him for a moment and looks back down to the ground and thought for a second, he then gets in idea "I could take her out on a date...! Just her and me and show her how good I can be...! Maybe she will fully understand me better then...!" Bowser stated proudly as he walked back inside as Kamek followed behind him quickly as Bowser headed upstairs "I can take her out tomorrow on a lovely date and then she will understand I'm a good guy....not some....freak....or monster..." He simply said as he just took a deep breathe in and a deep breathe out as he looked over to Kayla's room door "I have to prove it to her..." Bowser quietly said to himself as he walked into his room and shut the door behind him.
