"And I thought Arya men were shy !" Dhisana exclaimed as she confided in Bela.
The princess of Mleccha distinctly remembered the day after their marriage, how lifeless Manvendra seemed. She remembered how stiff he was, not even talking to her properly and seemingly avoiding her as much as he could.
She had assumed him to be a shy and introverted individual, someone who was extremely reserved. But the fervent and passionate kiss shared between them the previous night had shattered her perception.
In that fleeting moment, when their lips were locked in an embrace filled with longing and desire, Dhisana had sensed a fire within her husband that she had never witnessed before. And his image seemed to have been unravelled infront of her.
In her imagination, she had painted him as someone who shied away from revealing his desires and passions, believing that he preferred a quiet and modest existence. But the intensity of that kiss told a different story, the intensity which she could still feel on her lips. It unravelled a hidden fire within him that she had never witnessed before.
A myriad of emotions washed over her, there was a sense of excitement for this unveiling of a hidden side of her husband, but mingled with the excitement was a hint of uncertainty.
She had never seen this side of him when they had newly gotten married. Then he seemed as spiritless as a pillar. But since he has returned, Dhisana was noticing there was a change in him. It was as if a dormant flame had been ignited within him, illuminating the depths of his being and revealing a richness she had never fathomed.
Earlier he seemed extremely uninterested in her, but now his gaze held a newfound intensity, and a magnetic aura seemed to surround him. The way he spoke, the gentle touch of his hand that sent shivers down her spine, and even his body language all exuded a sensuality that she had not anticipated.
The newfound revelation had ignited a spark within her own heart, filling her with a curiosity to explore the multifaceted nature of her husband. Yet, she couldn't help but wonder why he had kept this part of himself hidden from her.
Dhisana felt a mixture of excitement, relief and perhaps even a hint of apprehension. She questioned why he had chosen to keep this side of himself hidden from her for long. Was it due to the demands of his duties ? Burden of being a warlord ? Or had he simply never felt the need to reveal this aspect of his persona ?
Suddenly she was brought out by her thoughts by the sound of sturdy footsteps.
"Looks like he has returned." Bela said, standing up.
"Bela, I wish to welcome in proper accordances." Dhisana said, her handmaiden understood what the princess wanted.
"I'll bring everything in a jiffy !" Bela said joyfully as she hurriedly left.
Dhisana gazed herself in the mirror, checking her appearance once more before heading towards the door of their room, eager to welcome her husband who had left in the early morning to visit Ashwasen for some important matter.
The moment Manvendra entered through the door, a smile appeared on his face seeing his wife greeting him with immense warmth in her eyes.
"Raudra, how was your day ?" Dhisana asked.
"It became better now." Manvendra said gazing at her.
Dhisana chuckled before holding his hand, and leading him inside the room and making him sit on the edge bed. By then Bela came in carrying a tray, she was followed by another maid who was carrying utensils required for washing the feet.
Seeing Dhisana gesturing the maid to place the large plate beneath his feet, Manvendra raised a brow in amusement. The princess knelt down, a silly smiled adorned her face as she took the kalash filled with water from the maid and poured it over his feet. Her fingers caressing each toe with tender care.
Manvendra pressed his lips to suppress a chuckle that was threatening to escape because seeing her being so ardent, a playful spirit seemed to be awakened in him.
With a mischievous glint in his eyes, Manvendra got hold of Dhisana's finger, pressing it gently between his toes. Bela and the other maid kept their hands over their mouth to suppress their giggles.
Dhisana looked up at him, seeing the silly grin on his face, she came to know quickly recognized her husband's playful nature. With a twinkle in her eye, she retaliated by tickling his feet, causing him to laugh.
"Dhisaney please !" He chuckled holding her hand, preventing her from tickling him further. Dhisana laughed while Bela and the maid chuckled.
