As I'm almost drifting to sleep after eating my midnight snack, someone shooked me, “Psst.”
Argh! Lemme sleep for FSM's sake
Another shake, then a groan, “C'mon, Rocky! I know you just ate your midnight snack!”
Ugh, this girl really can't wait now can't she.
I fluttered my eyes open and was greeted with the face of Liberty, my best friend. “Alright, alright! I'm awake. What do you want?”
“Wanna play Zenji with my ColecoVision?” Liberty started. “I can't sleep at the moment.”
After some deep thinking, I answered “Fine, gimme a moment to stretch.”
Liberty slowly walked to the door, and teasingly said, “That moment better be just a moment and not a whole hour.”
“Very funny, Sparky,” I rolled my eyes.
I fell asleep again and woke up at 6am.
I stared at the ceiling and sighed, “Good times… I wished we had more time though.”
I sat up and reached for my drawer and took the faded picture of two girls smiling; one noirette and the other's blonde.
“I failed you once, I'm not gonna let that happen again…”
