Nobody's POV
Kai and Lloyd had been interrogating Zephyr for hours, but the member of MidnytrZ seemed to be too good at evading their questions.
“I'll ask again,” Kai said, leaning forward. "Who else is in your gang?"
“I already told you, I don't know,” Zephyr replied, his voice monotone.
Lloyd sighed, frustrated. “We know you're part of a gang that bombs casinos. What are you after?”
Zephyr leaned back in his chair and folded his arms. “I'm not after anything. We just like to cause chaos.”
“That's a lie,” Kai said, slamming his fist on the table. “There's more to it than that.”
Zephyr just shrugged. “Believe what you want.”
At that moment, the other ninja; Jay, Cole, Nya, and Zane, entered the room.
“Maybe we can help jog your memory,” Cole said, smirking.
Zephyr raised an eyebrow and remarked, “Wow, you guys really know how to throw a party. Next time, can you at least give me a heads up so I can bring some snacks?”
“We don't have time for your games,” Nya demanded. “You're not going anywhere until we get the information we need. So spill.”
“I don't know who the other members are,” Zephyr said, rolling his eyes.
“Liar! Tell the truth,” Jay fumed.
Zane stared at Zephyr, scanning him, “He's telling the truth” Zane said, visibly shocked.
Zephyr chuckled, “Woah oh! Tin Can vouches for me? I'm glad to see that his circuits aren't completely fried. But I wouldn't trust him too much, he might short-circuit and glitch out like me.”
“Then what's the purpose of the bombings?” Jay asked.
Zephyr leaned back in his chair, “Let's just say we're cleaning up the city. Casinos are just a cover-up for something bigger.”
Kai's eyes narrowed, “What do you mean?”
Zephyr smirked, “You wouldn't understand.”
“We'll see about that,” Nya said, her voice sharp.
The ninja continued to question Zephyr for hours, but he wouldn't budge. That is until…
“What is your gang's motive?” Lloyd asked Zephyr, already tired off his silly games.
Zephyr stared at him for a while, and finally said, “We're the ones who clean up the city, one bomb at a time.”
Cole cut whatever Lloyd was about to say with “What do you mean by that?”
And with that, Zephyr's image glitched out, leaving the ninja staring at an empty chair.
“What just happened?” Lloyd asked, bewildered.
Jay stepped forward, looking serious. “I think we just got played.”
As the ninja left the interrogation room, they couldn't help but feel like they were missing something crucial. And little did they know, the MidnytrZ were always one step ahead.
