Third Person's POV

King Lou sat at his throne, surrounded by his advisors, as he made his announcement. "I have made a difficult decision. My own son, Cole, has been caught practicing illegal Earth manipulation. Specifically, Crystal manipulation. As king, I cannot turn a blind eye to this. Cole is hereby banished from this kingdom."

Cole's POV

I stood there in the throne room, unable to believe what was happening. My father, King Lou, had banished me from the kingdom because I was caught practicing the illegal crystal elementalism.

I just wanna learn more about my powers, ain't that wrong?

Jay, my cousin and honorary older brother, tried to offer me some comfort. "We'll figure something out, Cole. You can come with me."

I smiled at him. He's always been the best, but I knew that I had to face the consequences of my actions alone.

I shook my head at him. "I have to do this on my own. Thank you for everything, Jay."

As I walked away from the kingdom, I couldn't help but feel a bitter resentment towards my father. He had always favored Jay over me, despite the fact that I was his biological son.

I wandered through the wilderness for days, alone with my thoughts. I missed my home and my family, but I knew that I could never go back. Not after what I had done.

And then here I was... In the border where I saw them. The Overlord's army.

I had heard stories about them. How they were ruthless and unstoppable. How they presumably killed Jay's mother.

"You're a talented young man," the Overlord said to me. Wait, is he behind me?

I turned around and dang, I was right. The Overlord continued on, "And I can offer you something that your own father never could. Power. Join me, and I'll make you one of my generals."

I hesitated for a moment. I knew that joining the Overlord's army was wrong. But I also knew that I had nothing left to lose. "I accept," I said, finally.

As I joined the ranks of the Overlord's army, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. I was finally doing something that mattered. Something that would make a difference.

But as I train under the Overlord, I couldn't help but think of Jay and the Walkers. I didn't want to hurt them. But I also knew that I had to do what I had to do to survive.

And I knew that I would never look back.
