Hidden Feelings

Wyldfyre stood behind the door. She glanced at the mirror, stuck to the wall on her left. She glanced at herself wearing an unusual outfit, a ninja gi, what the boy in green said.

She looked way too...cherry coloured. Maybe with a bit of orange but she looked like a tomato, in her description.

Wyldfyre could hear the distinct voices outside the door, she couldn't exactly make out all of the words. But there were words who were spoken clearly enough for her to hear. Something like "A new teammate?" and "I wonder what element she has,".

Maybe this was a mistake. Agreeing to some sort of hero cosplay just because the boy in green convinced her to. She had always wanted to be a superhero, she'll admit. But she wouldn't imagine it would actually come true and that she would have to wear this ridiculous outfit that's just too tight. But maybe this was also a chance for her to finally fit in.

Wyldfyre seemed to pass her last year at Ninjago High as if she was just dust particles. No one acknowledged her existence, and no matter how hard she tried to be friendly, no one really remembered her. Maybe it would be different in her sophomore year, maybe she would finally be able to make some friends, at least.

"Okay, you can come in now!"

Wyldfyre had only heard the boy's voice a few times, but she quickly recognised it was his. She couldn't help but wonder if she had heard the voice somewhere else before. She quickly pulled up her mask and made sure her identity was real hidden. Not even a single strand of hair was to be seen, that was what the same boy in green told her.

A hand on the doorknob, she twisted it slightly and the door clicked opened. There it was, her supposedly teammates, standing right across the room. Wyldfyre was told that there would be seven people, including Green. But she wasn't that bad at math, she counted only six.

"Meet Heat, a new member of the team," Green gestured his hand towards Wyldfyre, aka Heat.

"Woah, woah, heat? I assume it's not a reference to her signature colour? Does she have powers similar to Red or something?" Blue quickly recognised her ninja gi's design, there were fire patterns printed out all over her waist.

"What?" Red asked in confusion. But his eyes showed jealousy, of course, no one else can be the one to handle fire-like powers than him.

"Yes, she is the heat elemental. Her signature colour was supposed to be tangerine, but I don't suppose you think it's a good code name?" Green deliberately smiled at Blue, then looked at Red.

"Uh, Tangerine is a fruit?" Blue scratched the back his head and Cyan just brought her fist slamming down on his head.

"Tangerine is also a colour," White continued. Blue looked at Cyan and pouted, his expression seemed to say "why did you feel the need to do that?".

Green cleared his throat and continued. "From now on, she will be joining us in missions. She's younger than all of you so I assume you will give her your fullest respect and protect her,"

Black titled his head. "Younger? Is she the same age as you?" Green flinched and he could feel everyone turn their eyes towards him again.

"Uh..hahaha....I didn't say that....now get to work, Pi-I mean, Samurai X will start up the training course in a minute," Green felt a single drop of sweat trailed down his cheek. It's always like this, one of the main reasons he always acted bossy and confident was because if he's nervous, he might accidentally reveal anything. And he just almost revealed Samurai X's identity, because she's the only one who he didn't allow them to know who she is. That was also the reason why he chose her to be by his side at most times.
