Me and Mat decided to fly down to Calgary for the infamous Calgary Stampede. I was born and raised in Texas so I love rodeos and that kind of stuff. When Mat mentioned it, I couldn't turn down the offer.
We're at our hotel getting ready to leave. I'm dressed in blue jeans, a red flannel, brown boots and a brown hat. I'm sitting on the bed in the room waiting for Mat. I called an Uber and it was going to be here in 3 minutes.
"Mat! Hurry your ass up!" I shouted at him. He came running out of the bathroom dressed pretty western. After grabbing his phone and wallet, we left the room and got into the Uber.
The drive was about 30 minutes including the downtown traffic. When we got into the park we both went to the games almost immediately. I won a teal and white stuffed wolf while Mat won a penguin. Fun story. When I was younger, we went to the stampede and my brother won me that exact wolf which is why I chose that. A few years before that a drunk person gave me a massive elephant about 4'5 (134.6 cm).
We then went down to the stadium to watch the chucks, relays, and finally the grandstand show. Also known as the greatest outdoor show on earth. Johnny Reid is here this year and I'm super excited to see him.
I couldn't sit still as the stage got pulled out onto the dirt as the relays ended. Mat noticed and put his hand in front of me so I could fiddle with his fingers and stay seated still. I put my head on his shoulder and sighed in content.
At about 11:30, the fireworks were over and we got into our Uber to head back to the hotel. I was super happy with how the night had gone and I could tell Mat was too.
"That was fun." I said to break the silence.
"Yeah it was. I haven't been to a rodeo or anything in years." He agreed. I smiled at him and kissed his jaw.
We got back to the hotel around 12:15. When we got into the room, I took my hat off and smirked. My hand reached out and took Mat's hat and placed it on my head.
"You know the rule?" I whispered towards Mat. He smirked.
"Wear the hat.."
"..Ride the cowboy."
We didn't get much sleep. But if I may say, that was one of the best stampede's I've ever been to.

As a Calgarian who's lived here for almost 13 years, the stampede do be a bit boring now. Johnny Reid was soooo good though.
Idk what the hell this is but whatever.
