His ears began to color more. "Emi..."

"Who wouldn't fall for a beautiful man like you, Rien? You don't have to respond to it. I just wanted to tell you. You know holding back my feelings is bad for me, right?"

A couple more of that fervent staring contest before he claimed my lips. It was longer this time. When I thought I had completely gone numb, I was wrong. Colorful fireworks began to light up in my chest as the butterflies danced in my stomach. I felt the lush of his lips against my own and the heat of his tongue battling with mine.

He broke the kiss first. Pero siguro dahil iyon ang kauna-unahan kong halik, pakiramdam ko ay nakulangan ako. No, you wouldn't get enough of a man like Rien. It felt like there was more to have and that he'd never go empty with no matter how much he gave.

With closed eyes succumbing to the sensation, my lips still searched for his when he broke it. He kissed me one more quick and stopped with a gentle caress on my arm. "I know it feels good but you shouldn't strain yourself, Emi. Too much is not good for you too. Don't worry I won't go away." He chuckled, making my face go red entirely.

I bit my lip with no attempt to hide my shyness. "I'm keeping myself in check." I rolled my eyes with a grin.

"I love you," he whispered.

LUB DUB.

I held my heart when I heard it beat loud. But it did not hurt like last time. In fact, it felt good. Too good. I don't mind dying feeling this much.

"Are you okay?" alalang tanong niya, napatayo pa nga.

Napatawa ako. "I'm fine, I'm fine—no I'm not! You just stole my heart!"

Napapikit siya't napahinga nang maluwag. Umupo siyang muli bago inilapat ang kaniyang kamay sa ibabaw ng akin na nakahawak sa aking dibdib. "I'd steal yours and give you mine."

Muling napatawa ako sa kilig. "Ang cheesy mo."

"Ngayon mo lang napansin?" His eyes curved into crescents with his every laugh. He was such a delightful sight to see and I would never get tired of watching him.

Nahagilap ko ang orasan sa kaniyang likuran. "Hala 'yong oras!"

Nilingon niya iyon at tinignan. Ala una nang madaling araw.

"We've stayed later than this, do you remember?"

Muling napangisi ako nang maalala iyon. It was when we were binge-watching Makoto Shinkai movies. He introduced me to it. Didn't know someone like him would be interested in anime, while I told him about the Ghibli films. It was one of the best moments I had with Rien.

"You cried like a child!" I teased him.

"You had a snot! Mas malala 'yong iyo!"

We were laughing and kidding until we heard two knocks by the door. Agad kaming tumahimik. A nurse came in with an annoyed expression.
