Nine and Rusty Rose's Adventure

Act 8: Helping Hand

Rusty was back into Shatterspace, hanging onto one of the craters. Returning to this area was not doing her any favors. She wanted to return to New Yoke so she could free Nine.

Rusty: "Well, now what? Sigh, I'm marooned in an unknown premises. And...what's that?"

When Rusty slowly moved to a different crater only to see Sonic and Shadow interacting with each other she grows concerned on what they'd do next.

Shadow: "I'm stuck here and it's all your fault Sonic!"

Sonic: "What else is new?"

Rusty was observing everything that was going on and continued to stay in silence, since she wasn't very sure of Shadow the Hedgehog's motives.

Shadow: "When you broke the Paradox Prism, you broke our reality. Green Hill is gone. It doesn't exist anymore."

Sonic had his head down, saddened by what had happened. The realization was hitting him pretty hard with this one.

Sonic: "I know I caused this. It just keeps getting worse."

Shadow: "Sigh, follow me."

As Sonic and Shadow were traveling the Shatterspace, while discussing the previous events, Rusty tagged along beside them in secret. The hedgehogs managed to reach to a red crystalized gateway.

Sonic: "So this must be the New Yoke City Gateway."

As Sonic walked closer to take a look Shadow caught a glimpse at the tech connected to Sonic's shoes.

Sonic: "Have you been able to see me this whole time?"

Shadow: "Not exactly. When you get going fast, you kick up prism energy and it thins the veil to the Void. It's like opening a portal through the Gateway."

Sonic: "So that must be how I teleported into No Place."

Rusty (whispering): "An interesting hypothesis."

Sonic: "I was looking for Nine, I started running fast and then suddenly I portalled out of New Yoke."

As Shadow moved to another part of the Shatterspace, Sonic and Rusty followed him. Shadow and Sonic continued their discussion on mysterious on their discovery, until the reached to a very dark void.

Sonic: "What's down there?"

Shadow: "Not sure. From what I can tell, it's an eternity of darkness that decays all life."

Sonic: "Sigh. Game over. Why didn't you just follow me in?"

Shadow: "You can get into those places, but I can't. With one exception. When you unleashed a shockwave of energy from New Yoke, it blew me back to the outer reaches of the void. And lead me here. And for reasons I haven't figured out yet this Gateway let me in. Maybe because the Shatterspace isn't fully formed or maybe it's decaying, I'm not sure. But it's not whole. Like a ghost."

The three then reached to another gateway.

Rusty(whispering): Fascinating. Yes, very fascinating indeed."

Sonic: "So then...what is this place?"

Shadow: "Come see for yourself."

As the two hedgehogs entered the Gateway, Rusty followed them. When she entered the Gateway, she was falling from the sky. She notice Sonic and Shadow below her so she extended her arm and grabbed onto the edge of a nearby hill away from the two.

Rusty: "That was close. I'm just glad those two didn't notice me."

As Rusty took a look around her surroundings she ran an analysis.Rusty: "Hmm, this dismal area seems to be drained. I'm not picking up any signs of life. Huh? I detect holographic traces. I better explore this area and run further methods...gasp! Nine!?"
