Nine and Rusty Rose's Adventure

Act 14: Start to a Good Future

(I strongly advise that you play this video as you read this chapter. It would make things more interesting.)

Another rift was made in the Shatterspace and the two hedgehogs are now entering the Stardust Speedway Zone or at least a place similar to that. While on the hunt for the next piece of the prism, the scenery brings back a certain memory to Rusty when she and Nine were at New York, but things weren't so chaotic for them. The two were chilling on top of one of the buildings and stargazing. It was good to relax and ease your mind.

Rusty: "You enjoying the scenery out here Nine?"

Nine: "Oh Yes! In fact I feel less stressed than usual."

Rusty: "The second I noticed the skies I just knew that nights like this one are rare."

Nine hugs Rose and gets back on staring at the wonderful stars. There was so much good on in the skies.

Nine: "Thank you for understanding and keeping me at ease. Lately I've been put under a lot of pressure and this was defiantly something I needed."

Rusty: "Cool to hear that Nine. Just remember I'm here in case you're ever under pressure again."

The two gave each other a warm smile and contused stargazing. They didn't want to miss out on any of the shooting stars.

Nine: "The sky has never looked so beautiful like this before."

Rusty: "Now you see why I had to bring you out of the hideout and introduce you to it. There was no way I was going to let you miss all of this. And besides..."

Suddenly an EggForcer charges in and attempts to arrest the two. But Nine and Rusty were able to overpower it.

Rusty: "Well, there goes everything, pretty soon the Chaos Council will get alerted and they'll come swooping in on the area."

Nine: "Are you kidding? We're not going to let some EggForcer spoil things. So let's go since there's still more to see."

Rusty: "But I don't know if that's a good idea. What if more of them would come and hunt us down?"

Nine: "Those robots are too defective and foolish to catch us. And on top of that we're slowly getting stronger than them. Now come on. We can't put this night to waste."

As Nine flies off to a different area, Rusty just smiles, being pleased at how her friend is determined to enjoy the rest of the night and decompress. It was so good seeing trying to relax.

Rusty: "I'm coming Nine. I'm coming."

The two had managed to find a more settled and calm area in the city. There were few guards and they had an even better view of the area.

Nine: "*Sigh* well, looks like this is going to be our new spot to stargaze from now on. And this time none of those tin cans are going to ruin things for us."

Rusty: "Agreed."

Out of nowhere, a loud grumble could be heard. Rusty suddenly sees Nine looking down on his stomach and back at the stars. It was clear to her what was going on with him.

Nine: "Probably should've gotten something to each before we did this."

Rusty: "I guess we could stop at one of the restaurants on our way back."

The night was still an amazing and so many memories and thoughts were flowing in their heads. Nostalgia was hitting them pretty hard and they were very settled from it. Of course sometime in the future it wasn't going to be like this and there would be some tough days, but the two promised to take care of each other. During their gaze at the cool stars Nine asks Rusty an interesting question.

Nine: "Say Rusty, have you ever wondered what it would be like if there were a world that was under or control and rule? I mean it would be amazing having everything made into the way how we would want it and live off of what we made."

This makes Rusty ponder very deeply into that. I mean things were good before the Chaos Council took over and spoiled things for not just them, but the people. And all that pollution and careless waste that they did didn't make things better either. She actually longed for the days when GreenHill wasn't all just parts and hazardous materials.

Rusty: "I guess I would like something like that to happen."

Nine: "Well if that day were to happen I or if we were to ever to discover a source of power that could make such a dream possible, I would be more than happy to share this power with you."

Rusty: "Aww, that's so kind of you."

Nine: "I mean it Rust. After everything we been together. The time you stood up against those punks that made fun of my tails and the time you ended up risking your life, only to become a cyborg. I would be glad to share this kind of power with you."

Those words sunk very deep into Rusty. It was so heartwarming to hear him say that and see him care this much for her. Suddenly we are back to the present where we see Rusty and Sonic carrying another prism.

Rusty: "We're coming for you Nine. I promise we will find you."

Meanwhile with Nine, he was still traversing the unknown area looking and admiring the crystalized structures around him. He wasn't aware that somebody was keeping watch over him.

Nine: "They don't look like shards. They almost look like...rubies."

As Nine touches one of them, in a flash all sorts of visions entered into his brain and played like a film. It was the most beautiful vision he had ever seen in his life. A world that was most fruitful and remade into the way how he had always dreamed of. The paradise he had yearned for was at his reach just waiting to be dwelled upon. As he proceeds to touch the beautiful paradise with his fingers, it all vanished.

Nine: "No...no...take me back..."

The fox gets back to his senses and becomes determined to discover the secret of this place. He notice a bright glowing rock in front of him. As Nine gives this rock a touch, hoping it could grant him that vision again. Only this time it made him disappear.
