Crushing revelation

One week later

Ane, Aoi, and Kanao went to give the three their medicine before allowing them to get out of bed. "Inosuke, don't struggle too much. I know that it'll hurt but you need to stay calm" Aoi said as she applied the ointment to the spot where Xonnon had begun to disintegrate. As Inosuke began to struggle, Aoi began to softly sing to Inosuke trying to soothe him.

Aoi finished singing after she finished putting the ointment on Inosuke. "I'm done, you can get up now" Aoi said helping Inosuke up. "Your voice is beautiful Aoi" Ane said helping Zenitsu get out of bed "Thanks Ane, but I think I can walk the rest of the way" Zenitsu said walking out of the room. "Shinobu Nee-San said that the master will call a meeting in thirty minutes" Kanao said "Okay, I'll tell Zenitsu that" Tanjiro replied.

"Tanjiro, how's your head doing? I'm sure that it getting violently slammed up against an engine will cause major pains" Genya asked "My head still hurts a little bit, but that medicine took away most of the pain" Tanjiro answered. "That's good, how about you two? Are your injuries still hurting?" Yuichiro asked "It hurts to walk or move my right arm, but I'll manage" Zenitsu answered "My chest hurts when I breathe, but that won't stop me from killing the demons" Inosuke said beginning to laugh until he coughed up blood. "That... that looks awful. How's Rengoku-San?" Yuichiro asked. "Rengoku-Sama is doing great. Though his vision is what I'm worried about" Aoi answered. 

Thirty minutes later

"Hello, my children. Hopefully, you are all doing well today" Kagaya said "We are, and we pray for your ever-lasting health and longevity" Kyojuro replied. "That's good to hear. Now, from what Tomioka's report said. Every Slayer that was on the Mugen Train awakened some type of mark. As I had a meeting with Kusho and asked him about the marks, he said that they are the Demon Slayer marks talked about so long ago. Though they bring great power, they also will most likely kill the Slayer that had awakened at the age of twenty-five years old" Kagaya said.

Die at the age of twenty-five... that leaves me four years. And Aoi nine years. Giyu thought. "This puts us on a time limit as the only way to get rid of the Slayer mark is to kill Muzan" Kagaya added. If that's the case... then we'll just have to kill Muzan before the four years are up. Giyu thought.

Three weeks later

While Aoi was tending to Inosuke she heard a loud argument coming from the entrance of the estate, while listening to the argument she heard Ane and Naho get named for a mission that Tengen was going on as Shinobu tried to fight against the decision.

With Shinobu and Tengen

"I don't care about your reasoning Uzui. They are under mine and Kanae's care, and I will not let them go with you. Naho isn't even a Demon Slayer for god's sake" Shinobu argued "Listen, Shinobu. They will not be in any danger I'll make sure of it. Right, Tomioka" Tengen said dragging Giyu into the argument.

Giyu was hesitant to speak for either side as they had both been around him during dark parts of his life. Shinobu, his soon-to-be-wife, and the person that practically saved him from taking his own life. And Tengen, his best friend, and one of the three people that tried their best to get him out of that spiral of despair.

As Tengen and Shinobu looked at Giyu waiting for a response, Zenitsu and Tanjiro came back to the Butterfly Mansion from Shinjuro's estate. "Hey Tomioka-San, what's going on?" Tanjiro asked. Before Giyu could respond Aoi and Inosuke came to the entrance of the mansion and began to explain to Tanjiro and Zenitsu.

"We won't let you take Ane. We'll go in her place" Tanjiro said with Inosuke and Zenitsu agreeing "I'll go in Ane's place too, she's my best friend and I will not sit here while those idiots keep her from going" Aoi said making Giyu get into the conversation.

"Uzui, I won't allow you to watch Aoi alone. I'm coming along" Giyu said leaving everyone stunned. "Giyu, you join in this argument only because Aoi wanted to take Ane's place, but when your fiance is asking for your help in convincing Uzui... you just stand there" Shinobu said angered as Tengen left.

"Oto-San, I believe that you're going to be in a lot of trouble when we get back" Aoi said going back into the Mansion. "Shinobu, I... thought that neither of you needed my input" Giyu tried to explain "Well, next time you better help me when I'm keeping people under my care safe" Shinobu pouted and went back into the Mansion. *Sigh* Uzui, why did you have to drag me into it? Giyu thought.

Before Giyu left to go back to his estate, Kanae stopped him. "When are the two of you getting married? I mean, you don't have much time if we can't kill Muzan" Kanae stated. Giyu didn't respond, he looked back at Kanae with a saddened look. "Even if we get married what would be the point? Like you said I don't have much time if we don't kill Muzan. So, I'll die either way in four years. And Shinobu would be hurt beyond belief in four years" Giyu said. "The point is that the day you two get married will be the happiest day in her life. So, she can have a wonderful memory to look back on if we don't kill Muzan" Kanae said "Maybe in a month. I'll... talk to Uzui about it though" Giyu replied walking away.

"Tomioka-San, I know you're worried about leaving her but don't try and distance yourself in a way that would lessen your death. If you do then you'll only go back to how you were when you joined the Corps". Kanae thought out loud. So, that's how Giyu feels. Shinobu thought.
