A friendship of two colliding natures

After talking with Kanae, Giyu took his leave to find a place to eat as his stomach felt like it was eating itself.

It only took Giyu an hour to make it to the Butterfly Mansion yet as soon as he got there it felt like he had arrived with Kanae due to how fast a short girl with large amethyst eyes, purple-tipped hair, a butterfly hairpiece, and a nasty personality that was spread across her face. Giyu only took one look at the girl and realized that she was Kanae's little sister and that Kanae probably told her about that meeting two months ago. "Who are you and what are you doing here" Shinobu said with clear irritation in her voice. "My name is Tomioka Giyu, and Kanae invited me here for some tea" Giyu said. As the two stared at each other, Shinobu's face turned into a look of surprise as she seemingly put two and two together about the man in front of her. Though her sister always said that he couldn't hold a conversation let alone answer questions with more than one word, this was the same man that scared Kanae for the first time in years and here he was waiting to be let in for some tea. "Shinobu let him in it's rude to keep a guest waiting at the door, also the tea is ready" Kanae said.

Shinobu walked to the living area nervously as Giyu followed her. Why is he just following behind me? What is he planning to do? The only time Nee-san was scared was when a demon killed our parents is he a... no he can't be he was in direct sunlight Shinobu thought, she then stopped to see what Giyu would do and as she turned around, and she saw a confused look on the man's face. "Why did you stop?" Giyu asked. "To get you to stop following me" Shinobu said as she tried to stand her ground. "I have never been in this part of the Butterfly Mansion I have only been in the medical part of this place, so I have no clue as to where the living area is" Giyu said leaving Shinobu embarrassed as they turned the corner.

Shinobu didn't know how to feel about the strange sight of Kanae nervously trying to have a conversation with Giyu, while Giyu studied herself, Kanae, and Kanao. "So who's this new light in your life Tomioka?" Kanae asked. "Well she's my beautiful precious dau... friend she's a friend" Giyu said trying to backtrack his words as he wasn't ready to tell any of the other Hashira about Aoi's existence. "Ara ara~ are you sure she's just a friend? She sounds more special than that." Kanae teased the man " Yes she is, she helped me learn to socialize" Giyu said.

While Kanae and Giyu continued to talk, Shinobu found Giyu to be very funny when he got confused by Kanae's teasing. The three of them continued to talk with each other until a Kakushi member told Kanae about the injured slayer they brought in. "Alright, I'll see you tonight for our mission Tomioka" Kanae said. As Kanae was about to leave she noticed how happy Shinobu was while talking to Giyu "Those two are bound to be very close with each other in the future" Kanae thought as Giyu started to tease Shinobu about her height.

Later that night

Kanae brought Shinobu to the mission with her so she could have field experience, waiting for Giyu they heard what sounded like Giyu fighting and rushed over to that direction. I appreciate how focused you are on the mission but why didn't you wait for us to arrive Kanae thought. When the two got there, they realized that the sounds were coming from a bar as they saw a drunken Giyu being dragged out with ten bottles of Sake on him.

"Tomioka" Kanae sternly said "What are you doing getting drunk on our mission?" Giyu looked at the two girls and started to laugh "I must be dreaming because there's no way two angels are in front of me" he said in between laughs. While Kanae wanted to murder the man for his actions, Shinobu blushed at the compliment but didn't know why they were just friends.

"Shinobu could you book a room for Tomioka and watch over him until I get done scouting the area for a potential den." Kanae asked Shinobu while giving her enough Yen to pay for a room. "Okay Nee-san" Shinobu said as she dragged the drunken Giyu by the arm, although he wasn't willing to leave the bar he had very little control over his legs to try and walk back there. When the two made it to their room Shinobu took all of the Sake away from Giyu as she ordered him to go to sleep. He tried to fight against her orders until he eventually passed out hitting the floor, as Shinobu panicked and tried to drag him on a bed. He was too heavy to drag onto a bed so she decided to give him a pillow and blanket as she then waited for Kanae to return.

When Kanae returned she saw Giyu sleeping on the floor and Shinobu sleeping on the bed next to Giyu. Although Kanae was planning on getting herself and Shinobu a separate room to sleep in and then tend to Giyu's hangover the next day she decided that she'll just get her and Shinobu a separate room tomorrow, as she then went to sleep.
