One week has passed since Giyu has taken Aoi as his Musume and his life has already improve exponentially even if he had to give his room to Aoi. While he still wasn't doing missions he had a lot of time to learn how to socialize because of the 12-year-old and her nonstop questions though one of them truly did stick with him that being, if he could teach her Water Breathing.
If there was anything any of Giyu's comrades could tell you about the man two things would always be in the top ten statements that being. Him showing no emotions and his intelligence and yet if even one of the other Hashira saw him during this week they would think that the demon's were becoming more advanced. As the man practically wore his heart on his sleeve when it came to Aoi, and no matter how smart he was he didn't have a clue on how to even answer that question.
"Aoi this is all I'm going to say on the matter, while I want you to live a normal, comfortable life I'll allow you to watch me train for the day and if you really want to learn Water Breathing afterwards I'll teach you" Giyu said although he knew full well that Aoi wouldn't be deterred hell if he left her with Urokodaki for a week she'll probably have the basics down by the time he went to get her. The girl had too much determination for her own good and Giyu could never find it in his heart to try and break that determination, in fact she became so determined after her Oto-san told her that nobody liked him that she taught him how to be social on her 3rd day living there.
3 hours later
To Giyu today was just a regular training session however to Aoi if those training dummies could bleed the only thing that would remain green were the leaves in the tree tops as Giyu would hit a dummy with one of the techniques, break it and then go on a rampage as he quickly got angry that the first one "somehow" broke. When Giyu finished his rampage he took Aoi aside and asked her to help him train as his warm-up was done, if there was something that would make Aoi not interested in learning Water Breathing it would be Giyu's temper. "How am I supposed to help Oto-san" she asked confused as to why Giyu would ask that question. "By throwing these at me, don't worry they won't hurt as a Hashira my durability is far more than enough to handle rocks" Giyu said handing her the rocks. But that wasn't what had her worried not one bit, what had her worried was the daggers next to the rocks. While she had no idea what a Hashira even was even she knew that the only thing that wouldn't be hurt by these daggers were demons and last she checked that wasn't what her father was, he was purely human and daggers killed those that were purely human.
The two had a back and forth about the daggers being involved in the training, and no matter how many times his voice may have been raised Aoi stood her ground and the daggers were replaced with wooden training swords, in moment's like this he really wish fighting amongst members wasn't prohibited as Sanemi would have already have thrown 500 dagger at him and would have still continued until the master couldn't take it anymore.
The next day
Giyu woke up early this day so he could cook breakfast for Aoi before his dreaded return to the corps after all they were starting joint missions the next day and wanted nothing more than to be alone when he killed demons. As he made his way out of his room he saw that he was too late as Aoi was already in the kitchen, how did he know? The shrine to Sabito and Tsutako already had two burning incenses. Once Giyu made his way inside the kitchen he saw that Aoi wasn't making breakfast rather was doing chores usually Giyu would stop Aoi from doing them and take over while she would read after breakfast but Giyu decided that today she'll be able to do the chores for once after all someone's got to make breakfast, might as well be him.
"Aoi get ready we're leaving soon" Giyu said as he packed a bag for "Where are we going Oto-san?" Aoi asked, though while she was confused as for why Giyu packed only warm clothes for her, she didn't like how much he would baby her at times. "I'm taking you to my masters estate so you won't be lonely while I'm gone. Since my line of work is... unpredictable with how long I'll be out" Giyu said. She knew what he meant by unpredictable after all she could read him like a book and he only pauses while talking if he is either sugarcoating his words or trying not to scare you with what actually is going to happen. When the two where prepared Aoi hopped on Giyu's back as he didn't like having her walk such large distances so he carried her those distances, with the both of them pretending that it was training for Giyu.
8 hours later
As the two made it to the Urokodaki estate Aoi had learned why Giyu had only packed warm clothes for her. Though nothing could prepare her for the month to come. As Giyu and Aoi had tea with Urokodaki, Aoi could never shake the unpleasant feeling from her mind whenever the two men spoke about her as Giyu constantly paused when he spoke. "Urokodaki sensei all I ask is to just... not be so rough while training her. After all this is only for her to be able to defend herself from demons and not her training to hunt down demons" Giyu pleaded with the man who both looked and sounded unfazed when he spoke. "Giyu. She'll be fine and safe now go, if your letter to me is about what I think it is you got a hard month ahead of you tomorrow, so leave" Urokodaki told Giyu. As soon as Urokodaki was sure Giyu was gone he took Aoi to the top of the mountain and had her train the same way as Sabito and Giyu did, masking it by telling her that her father went through way worse.
The next day
Giyu didn't even try to muster up an appetite to eat breakfast Aoi wasn't there to ensure her father was fed and he dreaded this day. After all two people could make a month-long set of joint missions a living nightmare, two of them could make it unpleasant and the last one is the reason he dreaded this day. If she was teamed up with him for the month than he might just consider disobeying orders and joining Sanemi, then again having her annoy him all mission long sounds far better than dying by Sanemi and having it look like a demon did the deed. Either way knowing how Kanae is she might just apologize to him until his ear tore off.
