Yet another KageHina one because I'm obsessed with them right now
ADHD Shoyo

Wednesday 11:30 AM
"Mr. Hinata! Pay attention! That's the third time you haven't been listening, and sit still for God's sake, you have to be in your seat."
The class chuckled and the boy bit his lip embarrassed. "I-I'm sorry Ma'am... it won't happen again..."
"It better not, I'll speak to you after class."

He ducked his head down and looked at the paper on the desk, someone was breathing too loud next to him, and the person chewing on their pencil behind him was too loud. He couldn't pay attention but he didn't want to get in more trouble.

He should have remembered to tell his mom he needed a refill of his meds sooner, they won't be ready for a few more days so he can't focus. He really is an idiot.
He can't even remember to tell his mom he needs a refill before he runs out. He knows the pharmacy can take up to a week usually.

Time skip

Finally the bell rang, but now he had to talk to the teacher. He had accommodations and his teachers all knew he had ADHD and were understanding about it, but his normal teacher was out and there was a sub for the next few days.
All the other students left and it was just him and the teacher in the room. He stood there fiddling with his hands and looking at his feet.

"Why weren't you paying attention today?"
"I-I'm sorry Ma'am. I-I have ADHD and I ran out of my medicine for it..."

"I don't care. You should know how to manage it. You're 16 years old. Don't be so irresponsible. Your normal teacher may tolerate your behavior, but I don't. Until she comes back I am in charge of this classroom and you should know how to manage that disease. I expect you to sit in your chair and focus on your work like a normal person. Now get out of here, and go to lunch."

He left biting back his tears, thinking of how she said 'disease' he doesn't have a disease. His brain just doesn't work the right way.
Of course today it's his fault. He didn't ask for a refill on his meds when he should have. He's so stupid.

He went to the lunch room and sat down with the rest of the team, or at least, the ones who were there.

Kinoshita and Narita were at the end of the table. Ennoshita was sitting next to them and Tanaka was on his other side.
On the other side of Tanaka (with about 2 seats of space of course) Tsukishima and Yams were next to each other at the end, closer to the window, they were sharing a pair of earbuds and eating, Yamaguchi had a book out and was reading, Tsukishima reading it over his shoulder.
Noya and Asahi were across from Tanaka and Ennoshita. Ennoshita and Asahi were both just watching as their boyfriends made bets on how fast they could chug a drink. (who else did that in elementary school?)
Kageyama was 4 seats away from Nishinoya, sitting across from Yamaguchi, and 2 seats on his other side were Daichi and Suga, talking to Kiyoko and Yachi who sat across from them.

Shoyo sat next to him and was across from Tsukishima.
While Kageyama wasn't the most observant person when it came to reading people, but he'd somewhat learned to read Shoyo since they started dating and whispered to him.

"Shoyo, are you okay?"
He nodded and whispered back. "Yeah, just had a hard time last class."
He didn't buy it, but also didn't want to push him so he just whispered back. "Okay, tell me if something is wrong okay?"
"I will." the smaller one whispered to him.

"What are you 2 whispering about?" Tsukishima asked unamused. "I didn't even know it was possible for you to be quiet."
"Hey! That's mean!" the tangerine yelled
Yams rolled his eyes. "Can you 3 not fight today, I just wanna read in peace for once."

"You're aware that's like asking them to stop breathing or asking Hinata to stop moving, right?" Suga asked across the table.
"Hey!" Shoyo turned to him, getting defensive
Suga meant it in the way he teased everyone, but since he had already been yelled at for not sitting still, it hit a nerve.

"Hey, he's just joking around Sho, he didn't mean it in a bad way. Are you sure you're okay?" Kageyama put a hand on his shoulder and he sat back down irritated and ate his food, more playing with it than eating it.

Another time skip

Lunch break ended and his next classes were better, but not by much. Everyone was still breathing too loud and there was that one person aggressively chewing their pencil and he picked up on every little noise.
He couldn't pay attention and his teachers understood, but they weren't pleased with it since he usually remembers to take his meds so it wasn't as bad.
He still got quite a few lectures and the class snickered when he was told to pay attention
Finally, finally school ended and he could just go to practice and play volleyball.

He was trying to just zone out while he changed with everyone and they all got everything set up.
Everything was too loud. He wanted to get noise cancelling headphones for school but he didn't have any yet and it's not like he could wear them for practice.
None of the textures of anything feel right and it's overwhelming.

He tried focusing on the lights so he wouldn't have to think about everything overwhelming him.
He kept messing things up and it was really frustrating. He messed up a spike and his hand touched the net.
The texture was gross and even though it was a split second touch his hand still had the texture on it and it wouldn't go away.
He shook his hands really fast in all directions trying to get the texture off. He was already frustrated and overwhelmed and that was the last straw. He clenched his hands into fists and banged them against the sides of his head.

"Hey, Shoyo, stop that. Stop that." Kageyama said, gently grabbing his hands to get him to stop and guiding them to sit on the floor. "Sho, hey, it's okay."
"No. The texture was gross and it's loud and she was mean and–"
"You're talking too fast and not making sense. Can you explain?"

"That made perfect sense." Noya said.
"No it didn't, how did you understand that?" Kageyama turned to him, kinda irritated.
"Did you forget I have ADHD too? The texture of the net was gross, everything is too loud, and someone was mean to him. Right?"

Shoyo nodded.
"Who was mean to you?" Tobio asked.
"T-the sub. She was mean and she got mad because I wasn't paying attention and she said I was irresponsible because I forgot to ask Mom to refill my meds and she called ADHD a disease and–" he stopped to breathe after saying it all really fast.

"Okay, she's a bitch and she's wrong. None of it is your fault" Noya said to the side, very clearly pissed. He'd had teachers do the same thing to him his entire life, so he's no stranger to it, and he hates when it happens to other people are too. "Kageyama give him your hoodie and let him feel the texture, that's the soft one right?"
"Yeah?"
"Okay, then give him your hoodie" he said
He took his hoodie off and handed it to the smaller, letting him trace the fabric.
"Just fight bad texture with good texture, that's how it works" Noya said accomplished.

Shoyo kept tracing it and just staring at it watching the fabric move. This was one of his favorite hoodies that Kageyama had.
It was soft but not the gross kind on certain blankets or the insides of some jackets, this is the good kind of soft.
It's the safe kind of soft.
It actually gets his mind to ground itself.

"Hey Shoyo, do you just wanna sit in the corner with that?" Kageyama asked.
He nodded.
"You're coming too."
"Okay."

He stood up still holding the hoodie and Kageyama's hand and just sat down in the corner feeling the fabric of the hoodie, Kags next to him with an arm wrapped around his shoulder.
He likes this.
Today was a bad day and this is safe.
This is good.

Okay, I'm ending this, this is kinda long, but I think it's cute
