Chapter. 7

Somehow Link talked me into horseback riding, And somehow Link's horse is at the same stable as mine.

Right now Link and I are looking through the stalls, looking for storm. "Storm!" I smile seeing him standing in one of the stalls. I open the stall, petting him gently on the neck. "He's stunning." Link smiles, walking over. "He is.. Storm, this is Link. He's a good friend of mine so be polite." I say with a small giggle, patting his neck gently. Storm gives a neigh in a grumpy tone. "Storm." I say sternly as Link chuckles walking closer, patting Storm's neck, Slowly moving up to his face. "He's very gentle." Link says calmly. "Sure." I laugh with a slight tilt of my head. "He's just protective of you." Link whispers never taking his from mine... I shake my head with a smile. "And you get all that just from petting him?"

"No, I get it from his eyes." He sighs looking into storms eyes. "You're adorable, you know that?"I accidentally snort laugh. He looks at the ground blushing. "I'll take your word for it."

"So where's your horse?" I ask, trying not to say another dumb thing... "I'll go get her. Meet me at the riding field?" He asks, keeping his eyes on the ground... I nod, and he leaves.

I take Storm out of the stall, Saddling him up. I lead him out to the riding field. I don't have to wait long for Link. He comes out with a brown horse that has a black mane and a white spot on the top of its nose. "Wow." I say looking at the beautiful horse as Link smiles "She's beautiful isn't she?" He asks patting the horse's mane. "Zelda this is Epona."

"Epona is the perfect name for her." I say as he stops in front of me and Storm. He just grins. "What are you grinning at?"

"Nothing." he says as his grin grows bigger. "Liar!" I say scrunching up my nose with a weird smile. "So are we going to ride or not?"

"Dork." I say hoping up onto Storm. "Nerd." He replies getting up on Epona. "You will pay for that, one day." I smirk. "Oh no." He says sarcastically, riding up beside me as I hit Storm with my heels making him move forward.

Link and I ride around for an hour or two. Afterward we went and got some coffee, then went back to my place to check on August.

I plop down on the couch. "Hi sweetie." I say as August jumps up onto the couch, resting her head on my lap as Link joins me on the couch, leaning back and closing his eyes. "Tired?" I ask as he nods. "How are your ribs?"

"Eh... Not too good but I'll be fine."

"Oh.. I'm so sorry." I sigh scooting closer to him. "What should we do?" He asks, opening one eye, looking at me from its corner. "I don't know." I answer looking away.

"I probably shouldn't ask this, but...." He stops. "But what? Go ahead and ask." I say sitting forward slightly. He opens his other eye and looks at me. "....How did your mom die?" He whispers as I look away. "She got hit by a car."

"I'm sorry." He answers quietly. "It's alright.. That was a long long time ago."

"You know I lost my best friend... So I get that it hurts to talk about it..."

"I don't mind when people talk about her... I like to hear what she was like. I like to know how her life was... And I think about it daily.. Trying to be more like her.. Trying to be better than I am" I say looking at him with a smile on my face. He just looks down. "Yeah.. I get that.." He says, turning his face towards me. "I should go.." He whispers, hurt in his eyes. "Stay.. Please.. Stay."

"Really? I don't think I should... I don't want to intrude.."

"Link, please stay. You're not intruding.." I say grabbing his sleeve. He just nods. "Do you play the piano?" I ask. "Yeah a little. Why?" He asks a slight smile on his face as I smile warmly. "Come with me." I say standing, walking into the music room/ house study. Link follows behind. I sit down at the grand piano, patting the spot next to me. "Come play with me." I grin with a funny laugh as He smiles. "Ok fine, but only if you sing with me."
