Chapter. 12

"It's for me.." I mutter stepping close to the cop who holds it. "May I read it?" I ask, feeling my hands shake as I reach for it. "..Fine.. But we will need to see it."

"Thank you." I say opening the note.

=*= Link.. You must understand that this is your fault.. You were never warned to stay away because I always hoped you would see that you should. I have no intention of harming Zelda.. But hope you take it into your hands to make sure we are never found again.. If not she will suffer. This is the last time you will hear from her ever again and I assure you that it will be worth it in the end

I'm shocked and scared. "What have I done?" I whisper, handing the note to the cop in front of me. The cop takes a look at the note horror on his face. "Start the search! And bring the dogs." He yells then he turns to Zelda's Dad. "Do you have something of hers that we could use to track your daughter?" He asks in a calm gentle voice. Zelda's Dad is too shocked to answer. "I-I do.." Impa says stepping forward. "Here.. It's the jacket she was going to wear today." She says handing the cop a light blue jacket with a white stripe on the upper part. "Thank you." He nods as another cop brings a dog to sniff the jacket.

"Lets go inside.." Impa says taking Zelda's dad's arm, leading both me and him inside. Impa makes us sit at the table as she walks away. "Why are you here?" Zelda's dad asks after a quiet minute. "Impa called.. And I care for your daughter.."

"..Really?" He says skeptically. "Yes." I answer feeling my heart throb as I think about Zelda. 'I've never hurt like this before....' I think unable to look at her dad.. My heart broken my throat raw.. I want to cry, scream and shout but I don't.. I try to stay strong on the outside because of the mess I am on the inside.

Impa comes back with two cups of something, she hands me one cup and the other to Zelda's dad. Then she walks away and comes back to the table with a cup of her own. "Drink.. It's hot cocoa." She says in a low quiet voice, her hands shaking as she takes a sip from the cup.. Tears streaming down her face. "They will find her.." I say placing my hand on Impa's shoulder. "But what if they don't?" She says starting to sob loudly. I look down at the table feeling a dull aching in my heart....

One week Later.

"How is the search going..?" I ask into the phone.

"No..We are still looking... It sucks that you can't be here.." Impa answers her voice husky and low.

"I have to respect my parents... They said I needed a break."

"You really do... You have spent days looking.. But I'll call you if we find anything I have to go.. Bye."

"Alright.. Bye." I hang up, placing my hand on Twilight's head. Tears fill my eyes as I try to think of anything but Zelda. I lay there for what seems like seconds but really is hours when there's a knock at my bedroom door. "Yeah?" I grumble, turning onto my stomach. "Link.. Sweetie.. I know this whole thing is hard for you.. But will you please come eat dinner with us? It's been days since you've eaten anything.." My mom says sadly, cracking the door open slightly. "No.. Not hungry." I mumble shoving my face into my bed. "Baby... Please, you need to eat. Dad and I are starting to worry."

"I'm. Not. Hungry." I say harshly. "Alright.." She sighs, closing the door. I hear my mom and dad talking in hushed tones. The door opens again. "Alright, get up boy! We are not doing this..Not again. You need to take care of yourself!" He says taking a seat on the side of my bed. "I know this kind of thing is very hard on you, But you can't just sit here and mope. Come eat with us and then we'll go join the search party." He says placing a comforting hand on my back. "Ok." I sigh, feeling heartbroken at the thought of Zelda. I get up and follow my parents downstairs. Aryll smiles as I take a seat at the table.
