"I'm free!" I squealed, racing Jacob down the stairs. I beat him, but then he lurched ahead of me and sprawled across the couch. I snatched the remote before he did and flipped the channels until an appealing movie caught my attention.

Jacob grinned from ear to ear as I laid beside him on the couch, curling tighter into his warm chest. He wrapped his arms tightly around me and I laid my head on the base of his neck. My back faced the TV, so I couldn't see what movie I had picked out for us to watch.

"I swear on my life Charles! I was abducted by aliens last night!" a girl voice rang from the television.

"You seriously need some new excuses, or some mental help." A guy answered.

"You don't trust me? Why would I lie to you about this!?" the girl shrieked. "I wish you could just believe me for once!"

"How do I know that you aren't-"

"There they are! Run!" the girl screamed.

"I didn't know you liked sci-fi movies." He whispered after awhile, stroking my hair.

"If you haven't noticed, I'm living in a sci-fi movie."

He laughed my favorite loud, addicting laugh.

"What'd I miss?" Aunt Alice asked, suddenly perched on the end of the couch.

"This girl is getting abducted by aliens with her boyfriend."

I peeked down and looked at Alice as she grimaced. "I've seen this movie. It's horrible."

"Ya, well, Emmy picked it." He laughed.

"Sorry. I wasn't really paying much attention. I just thought the male lead role was hot." I teased.

Jacob growled.

"Well I just came in to check on you."

"Oh no." I groaned. "Am I getting baby-sat now?"

"Ever since you were born, someone has always been watching you. It won't be any different, except maybe a couple more eyes than usual." Alice assured me.

"At least Rosalie wasn't here when..." I trailed off.

"Ya that part you did get lucky for. We all are going to try our best to keep it from her. She'll be the most vigilant of us all."

"Thank you." I sighed, nestling back into Jacob's warm chest. His heart beat soothed me, steady and even.

Eventually I dozed off.
