Then the scent hit me.

My eyes flew open. There, standing shocked at the doorway was the most beautiful person on the face of the earth. His face was twisted in pain, his dark eyes saddened at the sight he was seeing.

"JACOB!!!!!!" I screamed, jumping into his arms.

He caught me, stunned. "Renesmee!" he gasped. "Why are you crying!?"

I buried my head in his chest, inhaling his scent. The sad tears turned to happy tears and I couldn't stop crying.

I sobbed harder and harder.

He wrapped his arms around me and held me tightly into him. I felt like I was going to crush to death, but I didn't care. He was here. He was alive.

"What's going on?" Mom's voice asked alarmed behind me.

"I don't know. I heard her out here crying." Jacob answered, his voice sounding so sweet it hurt me to hear.

"My Jacob." I sobbed. "You're okay."

"Of course honey." Jacob laughed. "Did you think I would ever leave you?"

I tried to stop crying, finally getting it down to a few tears and a sniffle left. But I refused to let him go.

"I heard your heart monitor when I got here."

Jacob rested his chin on the top of my head and squeezed me. "Dr. Fang had just taken it off of me."

"But Grandpa's call-"

"If you would've stayed you would've heard, '-but I resuscitated him and he's awake now. Get home. Bring Renesmee.' " Dad smirked.

"You can walk?" I asked Jacob.

"Yep. Apparently I just needed a little longer to recuperate from a fractured spine. My heart gave out a little in the end, but I fought."

"Thank you for fighting."

"Glad to have you back Jake." I heard Mom say. I peeked at my Mom from Jacob's chest and smiled.

"Me too." Dad nodded.

Rosalie, standing beside Carlisle in the open door to the study, smirked. "Even though I hate you, I'm glad you are back. For Renesmee's sake. She was going insane."

Jacob laughed and grabbed me, swinging me into his arms effortlessly. I yelped softly.

"Be careful." Mom warned seriously.

"You can trust me." He winked.

I memorized every inch of his face, staring at him.

He gazed down at me and grinned from ear to ear.

"Don't you ever leave me again."

"I promise I won't."

"You swear?"

"I swear."

"Alright then." Mom interrupted. "Jake, you have a lot of work to catch up and do. We'll get you up to speed on what has been happening since you've been...sleeping."

Jacob chuckled. "You make it sound like I had a choice."

Mom smiled and disappeared down the stairs.

I buried my head in his neck and smiled. "I love you Jacob."

"I love you too Renesmee." He chuckled, kissing me on the forehead.

And that was when I knew everything would be alright.

As long as Jacob was here by me, I would always be fine.

Whatever lied ahead we would face together, and I had a feeling we had a lot more complications on the way...
