Special chapter for men
Dear Sam,
I see girls cry all the time, and nobody thinks they're wimps. What's a guy supposed to do with his feelings?
-John
Dear John,
God gave everyone emotions, and everyone deals with them differently. The Bible has stories about many emotional men. King David was certainly one. He danced in joy mourned greatly in grief, yet he was definitely not a wimp, as he proved his valor and leadership many many times.
Christ was another man who has in touch with his feelings. When he heard of his cousin's death, he wanted to be by himself (Matthew 14:1-13). However, when the crowds wouldn't leave him alone, he looked closely at them and felt sorry for them. (Matthew 14:14). When the temple was used as a marketplace, he reacted with righteous anger (John 2: 14-16). After the death of his good friend Lazarus, Jesus cried very real tears. (John 11: 33-35)
There is a time for laughter and a time for tears (Ecclesiastis 3:4) It is normal to have feelings, and you are not a wimp if you express them. God made you a human being with a very real emotions, and you have the ability and the right to express them.
