11: Where are you? (Chanyeol POV)

I text Eunhye again right after school. Hmmm I wonder why she got called down... She hasn't messaged me yet.. Hopefully she's okay.. I walk down the road to the car. My mom waves at me through the window, and I wave back. I get in the passenger seat .

"How was school?" Mom asks me.

"Oh it was the usual... It was okay. Eunhye had left early for something but not quite sure why." I reply,

"Hmmm.. Hopefully she's doing okay,"

"Yeah me too.." I agree.

Laying on my bed I look at my phone for what seems to be the 100th time but no reply from Eunhye. She normally messages me right away but it's been almost the whole day but no message. It's already 10:30 pm.... Maybe if I sleep, tomorrow morning I'll receive a message. ... Then I knock out in what seems like 2 seconds.

When I walk into homeroom, Eunhyes seat is empty. ... This morning I didn't receive a text message from her or anything. When I sit down , I hear some girls whispering.

"Yeah hopefully she's okay.. I know her grandma was really close to her. Back then her grandma always picked her up from school when Eunhye and I went to elementary school.."

"True... She must be going through a really tough time. I can't imagine losing my grandma .. Especially one I'm really close to."

Eunhye lost her grandma. Maybe that's why she was excused from school yesterday . Eunhye. ... She must be going through a really hard time. I couldn't stop thinking about her. Her name kept entering my thoughts.

The last bell rung and right away I ran out of the school. I pull out my phone and try calling her, but she didn't answer.

My car pulled up.

"Mom, take me to Eunhyes house right away." I tell my mom.

"Okay.. But what's the matter?" She asked

"Her grandma passed away.. She needs someone there to comfort her." I reply.

*flashback*

"We are so sorry for your loss.." Someone said to my family and I .

"He's in a better place,"

"Your grandpa was a hardworking man."

"Hang in there,"

People flooded us with many of those words of encouragement . But.. It was so hard. To have someone you love go away. Tears were on my eyes but they weren't coming out. My family and I stood in the funeral of my grandpa as everyone was trying to comfort us.. But it was useless. What I really needed.. Or maybe what my family really needed was a firm hug reassuring us that it'll be okay and that they are there for us. That's what we really needed... In order to surpass this and heal.

I get out of the car and hurry to Eunhyes house. I ring the doorbell but instead of Eunhye opening it, her mom does.

"Hi mrs.Kang. I'm Park Chanyeol, one of Eunhyes friend. .."

"Oh yes.. I have heard many good things about you," mrs. Kang smiles gently

I smile back. "But I was wondering if Eunhye was here?"

"No she's not. She actually went to go take a walk but if you walk around here, she should be around."

"Thank you," I reply and quickly rush out.

"Eunhye! Eunhye!" I call out as I run.

I don't see Eunhye anywhere after running around the neighborhood for about 10 minutes.but then an idea had popped in my mind. I know where she is. The park. I run to the park in the neighborhood.

Just as I had guessed, I see Eunhye sitting on the swing with her head looking down at the ground. I quickly walk to the swing and sit next to her. She turns looking very surprised with tears on her face. Then she stands up and says, "oh hi Chanyeol." She turns the other way and tries wiping her tears away as if I didn't see anything.

"I'm sorry, but I have to go now," she says, her voice distant. She starts to walk but before she could even take a step, I stand up and grab her hand.

"Eunhye.. You don't have to act like it's okay." I gently say.

Then I turn her to face me and pull her in for a hug.

"I'm here now, you don't need to hold it in any longer. You can cry now," I tell her as she just cries into my chest.
