17: Mittens and Falling (Chanyeol POV)

When she arrived through the door, I was shocked. Shin hyemi was standing right before me. When she looked my way she smiled, and I smiled" back at her. After she introduced herself, Mr.Lee had her sit right next to me! Of course I was happy. I feel like I haven't seen her for ages. Seeing a familiar face brought me comfort inside .

"Hi Chanyeol!!" She whispers to me.

I manage to say hi back and ask her why she's here.

"Because, I wanted to see you. And see how you were doing.. Honestly.. I kinda missed you ." She whispered to me. I just stared at her.

"Well .. I'm glad to see you again. How are the members?" I ask her.

"Balling their eyes out because they haven't seen you these past few months." She chuckles.

I laugh. "Awe I miss those guys too,"

Hyemi had decided to join the rest of us to go skating tonight. I was cool with it. I mean ... My new friends with a good old friend.. I'm one lucky guy .

I arrive at the skating rink. although it's dark outside... The lights around the rink shine brightly. After putting the skates on, I head out to the rink. I haven't been ice skating since ... Elementary school. But I think I still have those skills. After skating for about 5 minutes, Soomin and Eunhye arrive together. They both laugh while arm in arm .

"Eunhye! Soomin!" I shout. They both turn to look at me . They wave and head back to get their skates. Then they sit down to put in their skates.

Next comes Joohyuk . He jogs to get his skates nod sits next to Eunhye . I observe the two.. They chat here and there and Eunhye is obviously laughing a lot around him...

"Chan!"

I look up and see Hyemi waving at me with a huge smile. I wave back. I still can't believe she's here. Then I turn my gaze back at Eunhye and them. She's struggling when she reaches the rink. I laugh to myself, she's too funny. I quickly skate over to her.

"Look at this girl.. She's holding onto her own dear life." I tease Eunhye when I reach her. She glares back at me then tries skating again. But once again she struggles. I continue to look at her and tease her.

"Don't just stare at me! Help me out?" She finally gives in.

I take a few minutes to think about it to tease her even more.

"Okay," I say. She holds out her hands . Unlike last time when she stood in the cold waiting for me at the park, Eunhye is actually wearing mittens. In fact, they look a bit... Big on her.

I take her hand in mines and lead her farther than she can get on her own.

"Who's mittens?" I manage to ask her.

"They don't look like mines?" She asks me as she turns to look at me.

"Mmmmm they look kinda big on you actually.." I reply

"Joohyuk gave them to me earlier. Soomin had hers with her but didn't have another pair. So when Joohyuk saw me, he offered me his mittens and told me that he didn't want my hands to freeze. He's normally not like this, in the past he's always the one who's teasing me and stuff but this year, I feel like he's definitely grown . It's different... But I kinda like it." She laughs.

I nod my head in silence. That could've been me that offered my mittens... Wait a sec... What am I thinking??

I continue to lead Eunhye for a few minutes until I feel someone hook arms with my left arm. I turned to see Hyemi clinging on my left arm .

"Hi Eunhye!" She says while waving at Eunhye. Eunhye looks at her and awkwardly smiles back at Hyemi.

"Hi," Eunhye says.

Then all of a sudden Eunhye lets go of her left hand that was holding my right hand.

"I'm actually gonna try skating alone for a while and improve my skills." She jokes .

"Oh, okay." I reply back at her. She gives me a warm smile then turns forward again. She wobbles here and there. But then she falls.

"Hold up Hyemi," I say.

I quickly break free of her grip and stride toward Eunhye to help her up . But before I could reach her, I see Joohyuk pass me. He helps Eunhye up, and I hear him laughing. She slaps his arm. He holds out his hand towards her and she reaches for it. Then Joohyuk continues to skate but at a slower pace for Eunhye to catch up. I stop skating towards the two.
