18: The Awkward Feeling.. (Eunhye POV)

I sit next to Soomin as we put on our skates.

"I've never gonna ice skating till now. I'm so scared!" I say

She laughs, "you will do fine, just remember not to lock your knees when skating."

"I guess.."

Joohyuk arrives and plops himself next to me . He starts putting his skates on.

"Hi," I wave at him.

He looks up and greets me too when he asks me something.

"You're not wearing mittens? It's gonna get cold later..."

"Mmmm... Don't have any and Soomin said she doesn't have an extra pair. But I'll manage, I'll just put my hands in my pockets or something..." I reply back.

"Don't do that! wait.." He pulls out a pair of mittens from his coat pockets . "Here," he says while holding out his pair of mittens for me to wear.

"No it's okay! Don't worry about me," I tell him. He doesn't budge . Instead he starts putting them on my hands.

"I don't want them to freeze .." He says as he puts on the other side of mittens on my hand.

I start laughing . He looks up at me.

"What??" He asks.

"It's just that you always bug and tease me but here you are worrying about my hands freezing." I continue to laugh. He joins in with me.

"But thanks for lending me your mittens. Just tell me when your hands are cold okay?" I tell him.

He nods.

"Okay well I'm gonna try to skate! So I'll see you guys in a bit when you guys are done skating."

I stand up and grab the railing to help pull me up. When I stand up, I try skating but it's so hard!! I wobble here and wobble there... But it's no use. I'm not getting anywhere ..

"Look at this girl.. She's holding onto her own dear life." Someone teases me. Chanyeol.

"Don't just stare at me! Help me out?" I tell him.

He takes a few minutes to think about it.

"Okay," He gives in. I hold out my hand for him to help me out.

He takes his hand in mines and leads me .

"Who's mittens?" He asks me while skating.

"They don't look like mines?" I ask him as I turn to look at him.

"Mmmmm they look kinda big on you actually.." He replies

"Joohyuk gave them to me earlier. Soomin had hers with her but didn't have another pair. So when Joohyuk saw me, he offered me his mittens and told me that he didn't want my hands to freeze. He's normally not like this, in the past he's always the one who's teasing me and stuff but this year, I feel like he's definitely grown . It's different... But I kinda like it." I laugh.

In my peripheral vision I see him silently nod his head.

He continues to lead me when someone abruptly stops our skating. I look to see who it is. Soomin hooked her arms with Chanyeols left arm.

"Hi Eunhye!" She says while waving at me. I give her a small smile.

"Hi," I greet her.

"I'm actually gonna try skating alone for a while and improve my skills." I joke after I let go of my left hand that held his hand.

"Oh, okay." Chanyeol replies. I give him a smile and start to skate on my own.

When Hye mi had clung onto his right arm... I couldn't help but feel awkward and ... Out of place. I feel like my friendship with him is nothing compared to her friendship with him.. I feel like... nothing compared to her...

Without realizing it, I start to become wobbly while trying to skate. NO! I can't fall! But before I knew it, I had fell on my bottom. This is so embarrassing... Someone skates to me . Chanyeol... Im bout to say his name when it wasn't him that had skated to help me out. It was Joohyuk.
