"Oh, do you ever shut up?"
It was the first time I heard the "catguy " talking to me. First I was taken aback by his voice. It was deep and raspy. But it wasn't the first time I really noticed him.
Being a new exchange student at the Seoul Institute of Arts I didn't have the privilege of knowing a lot of people here. I usually hang out with my group of friends from Sweden who are also exchange students
. We don't speak the language either so making new friends isn't an easy task.We were eating lunch in the college cafeteria. Our table was very close to where the "emo/cat guy" was eating and apparently I was disturbing him with my talkative personality.
I frowned and gave him a dirty look. His expression was very hard to read. It's like he went on poker-face mode.
I usually see him in the corridors of the university. He is studying the Korean music program. Thank God I am studying the photography program and we don't have classes together. I just occasionally walk by him and he did catch my attention, I must admit.
He wasn't exactly my type. I'm definitely not into emo looking guys with dark hair with long bangs and straight locks. And I am most likely not into guys who seem to have a grumpy personality.
But his features were so soft and beautiful that I shamelessly have to admit that I ,sometimes, found myself staring at him in the hallways of the university. He was the definition of duality. His features were soft but his eyes and his stare were anything but soft. His stare was hypnotic and that's when he was actually looking at something or someone cause he'a usually pretty quiet and seems to have very poor eye contact skills. He seems to be shy but in the past three weeks since I started to learn at this university I heard him often engaging in eristic arguments just to confuse people. He was definitely sarcastic and smart.
"Take a picture honey! It'll last longer!"
I didn't even notice that I was staring. Guess I was taken aback by his voice and the fact that he was talking to me. Of course he had to make that snarky comment.
If he was giving me that rude attitude then he should be prepared for my response cause I'm definitely not the shy type. A good comeback to his snarky comment it's to actually do what he just said. So I simply took my camera out and snapped a photo of him.
"Good luck, I'm a photography student and carry a camera with me everywhere I go."
"And by the way I see no sign that says"no talking with your friends in the university's cafeteria" so, sorry honey but I'm a classic loud talker when I'm in public."
A side smirk was the only answer he gave me. I just chuckled and continued to laugh with my friends.
It's not an easy feat to deal with rude people but a good and savage comeback can save a bad day I guess...
