4 | new world

The day started very normal, apart from Yunho once again avoiding closeness to some extend. He seemed to have been a little more chill this time, but still clearly distant in a way that would have absolutely hurt Wooyoung, had he not been as excited as he has been ever since waking up.

He went to his classes by himself, skipping breakfast as he was of course running late. As expected when the one who usually drags him to uni just in time has left right after waking him up once. But Wooyoung did not have to think about any of that for long anyway. No, the moment his last class before lunch break was done, he made his way through campus to one of the many libraries of the institution.

He actually meets Yeosang on the way, who pretty soon finds out that Wooyoung has not eaten all day, then proceeds to scold him for it and force his own food on the boy that he has had in his lunch box. So while the two of them make their way to the Aurora base, Yeosang keeps pushing more and more food into Wooyoung's mouth, which the other tries hard to keep up eating. He finds it quite cute though. That Yeosang cares so much.

And before Wooyoung knows it, he is walking through the entrance to the hideout, with Yeosang by his side who is holding an empty lunch box. San is already dressed in his travel suit, his arms crossed in front of his chest and face blank with only a slight hint of annoyance. Seonghwa and Hongjoong are standing with him, dressed normally.

"There you are!", Hongjoong happily greets them, attention mainly on Wooyoung who would be going on his very first mission today. He nervously smiles back at both his seniors. "Come on, get yourself dressed in your room and then come and meet us in the travel room."

Yeosang joins the other three while Wooyoung goes to his room to get into his uniform. He checks himself out in the mirror when he is fully dressed, huffing at the sight. Wooyoung is very much convinced that he looks like a fucking snack in this suit. The thought makes him chuckle at himself before he smiles at his reflection, telling himself in his head that he could do this.

So after boosting his own confidence for a little bit, Wooyoung makes his way to the travel room, where all the others are already gathered.

The travel room is honestly just a big room, quite similar to every other one in this facility. The main difference though is that it has a circular field in its middle, the floor within it being completely and brightly white. When showing him around, Yeosang had explained to him that the material the circular space is made of is a special stone, able to send travellers into different alternate universes.

Well, alternate universes that can only ever be visited once. There is a never ending amount of them out there, making it less of an issue if a mission were to fail with travellers returning without any resources for the end goal. But having visited a certain dimension, travellers are aware that they would never set foot there again, the moment they decide to come back into their home dimension.

It makes Wooyoung feel some type of way. Some type of way he cannot really explain. He just knows that even if he ends up getting attached to a certain place, he could never return back there, no matter what. All he would still have from any of the travels he is going to be on, are all the memories he makes along the way.

Though those memories might not even turn out too great, considering his travel partner is none other than one of his high school bullies.

"Alright, remember what we've told you and you should be alright. It's important that the two of you stick together though. You won't be able to communicate in any other way than talking to each other and can only get back here the way you got there, which is with each other. So make sure you don't get separated.", Seonghwa tells them once again, just to make sure they would be alright. San already knows anyway, only briefly acknowledging Seonghwa's previous rule summary and the wrap up of such because of that. Wooyoung on the other hand is listening very intently, despite already having heard all this from them before.
