25 | wake up

In any regular situation, Seonghwa would have been the first person for Hongjoong to turn to. But since Hongjoong has just witnessed Seonghwa of all people getting told the same thing he would have told him as well, he knows he could not be his first stop.

The only other person he can think of as a number one human to talk to, is none other than Kang Yeosang. Kang Yeosang, who is not only Seonghwa's best friend and the one who has been with them the longest out of all remaining travellers, but the one who has been Hongjoong's partner all along. Yeosang, his travel partner and friend whom Hongjoong has neglected greatly recently. He can only hope that Yeosang is still willing to listen to what he has to say. Because he would understand if he was too mad at him to do so.

So Hongjoong leaves without making a single sound, getting out of the Aurora base and staying in his invisible, soundless form the entire way towards the dorm building. He runs through familiar hallways, not once slowing down or looking back as he feels like he is about to panic if he stops and thinks about anything twice. He cannot risk that sort of breakdown right now.

When he reaches Yeosang's and Mingi's shared dorm, he listens in front of the door, trying to find out if Yeosang is by himself. Glad to hear that being the case, he looks around before turning himself visible again and knocking on Yeosang's door in a certain rhythm that should have the younger know immediately who has come to visit him. The door opens only seconds later after quick steps finally reach the entrance and Hongjoong is faced with a very surprised, yet also slightly worried Yeosang.

"Hongjoong? What are you-"

"There's not much time, Yeosang. I don't know when Seonghwa will be back and there is something I have to tell you as soon as possible.", Hongjoong interrupts him and Yeosang blinks back at him for a second before letting out a soft sigh and opening the door a little further.

"Come in then.", he says, receiving a nod from Hongjoong in return who slips inside the dorm flat of his friend, in which he and Seonghwa have spent a lot of time with him already whenever his roommate, Mingi, would be out with his own friends. But Hongjoong has no time to dwell in nostalgia upon being back here now, simply waits for the door to close before he turns back around to face Yeosang once again. "What do you want to tell me? Did something happen to you? Are you alright?"

"Yeosang, I... I got a call from Mr and Mrs Park earlier, asking me to come to the base by myself because they apparently had important news to share with me.", he begins to explain. Yeosang nods in return, eyes still on Hongjoong's as they are currently standing in Yeosang's living room, facing each other. "They told me that with the current speed of resource collecting we should have reached the overall organization goal in less than a week."

Yeosang's eyes widen now and he steps closer towards Hongjoong, forgetting for just a moment that Hongjoong did not come here looking overly happy or excited. Quite the opposite actually. Hongjoong looked more like he was overly worried and panicking, scared in a way as well. Whatever he heard was not positive and Yeosang fails to register that from how excited he feels about hearing just how close they have come to the end of their seemingly endless travel and resource gathering journey.

"Woah that's amazing! But - my wish? I wasn't expecting this to happen anytime soon so I don't even know what I want to wish for... hmm, let's see -"

"Yeosang!"

"What?!"

"There is... I came here to talk about that with you. There is no wish. Not for you and not for any of us.", Hongjoong says, immediately noticing the confusion in Yeosang's features.

"What do you mean there is no wish for any of us? We are close to reaching the Aurora goal and they said we could have any wish granted. It was what we have all agreed working with them for."
