Yeji and Ryujin bonded way more over the summer. They initially started to go to malls and explore the city together and eventually lost energy after the first few trips. Afterwards they would almost always hangout around each other's house.
They would either be watching Netflix together or Yeji would be forcing Ryujin to read manga.
Yeji's mom was very fond of Ryujin. She was glad her daughter had no problem fitting in at school. And when she was constantly away for work, she had someone by her side.
And just like that their peaceful summer holiday came to an end. And classes resumed.

On the first day of class, the first thing they did was swap seats, like it was the norm for every semester. "Do you want me to randomly select your partners or?" The teacher asked lazily.
"I want to sit with Yeji." Hyunjin raised his hand up before speaking.
"Hmm...Yeji, are you okay with that?" The teacher asked.
"Hell no!" She almost cursed. " I mean I want to retain my current partner."
"That's not allowed." The teacher sighed. "You know what I'll just randomly pair you guys up."
She sat down, wrote down the number 1 to 18, each number twice. She then proceeded to move around the class and let the students pick a piece of paper.
Yeji opened her paper almost immediately after receiving it. "9" She said before checking Ryujin's. "14" they both sighed as they remained in their seats not bothering to find their new seat mates. Instead they were busy coming up with ways they could still stay close.
Ryujin recalled that the teacher decides the seatmates but she usually lets the students decide the order of the seats. Ryujin's plan was that she remained where was sitting and yeji moved to the seat in front of her along with her new partner.
"Hey, any of you got 9?" A guy with a deep voice spoke, he stood there for a couple of minutes waiting for them to be done with their talk before he spoke.
"Yeah.. me." Yeji raised her hand subconsciously.
"So you both will sit infront here." Ryujin instructed the guy she barely ever talked to but knew who he was. "Ask these girls to move out." She whispered.
"Yes ma'am." The pale slender boy obliged gladly.
"If you guys don't mind can we take these seats?" The guy asked gently, his eyes disappearing as he smiled.
The girls giggled and nodded shyly, feeling honoured he talked to them.
"Done, ma'am." He raised his thumb up. To which she smiled at.
Everyone was done finding their partners, except for Ryujin, who simply sat and awaited for her new seatmate to magically appear to her.
"Wait- " Ryujin gasped. "You? Well it's better than someone I've never talked to."
"Window~seat~pwease." Hyunjin pleaded in the most disgusting baby tone ever. The girls adjacent to him admired it regardless.
"Hwang Hyunjin, sit the fuck down." Ryujin ordered, clearly not interested in entertaining his nonsense.
"Damn, someone who's got Hwang Hyunjin controlled. What a lovely sight." The guy who sat infront of Hyunjin and next to Yeji spoke. His voice deep again.
"Shut up Felix!" Hyunjin rolled his eyes and sat down.
"Hey, Yeji why would you refu-" before Hyunjin could complete his sentence, Yeji got up and left for the bathroom. "Am I getting ignored?" Hyunjin thought out aloud. "Seems like it." Ryujin replied as she turned to watch Yeji walk away.
