Crystals of sweat trickled down Hyunjin's temple as he jogged down the stairs from the boxing room. It might be normal for rich people to have crazy unexpected things at their houses but the only reason why there's an in-built boxing gym in the Hwang residence was because of Hyunjin's fighting habits. He started it when he was really young. At first, some kids were bullying him and he retorted with a punch. That brought commotion at the Hwang mansion. His wicked self loved it. So if he wanted to get everyone riled up, he only had to fight around. He would come home with bruises worrying his mother and granny who eventually built him the gym. "If you really want to fight that much, then use this!" She told him. His dad only cared when there were complaints about Hyunjin.

"Yo, lil Hwang! Wassup!" His cousin, Son Chaeyoung, greeted. She came with Jeon Somi at the behest of their grandmother. She was already a college student but was still close friends with Somi.

"What are you doing here?" Hyunjin ignored Chaeyoung and frowned at Somi as he wiped his sweaty hair with a towel.

"To see your grandmother." Somi smiled proudly.

"We need to talk first." Hyunjin said sternly before walking away to his room. Jeon Somi soon followed as she told Chaeyoung to wait.

"That little piece of shit! He has no respect for his elders! Ugh!" Chaeyoung stomped on her feet, cursing under her breath when her grandmother came.

"What are you muttering? And where's Somi? Weren't you supposed to come with her?" She immediately bombarded her with question after question.

"Hyunjin said he wanted to talk to her first." Her tone was formal and respectful as she replied.

Her grandmother nodded. "Bring both of them to my room when they are done talking." She commanded before walking away.

"Your room is still the same..." Somi said the moment she entered Hyunjin's room.

"What's this? A strawberry chapstick?" She queried when she noticed it on his dresser.

"Put it back." He ordered before snatching it out of her hand.

"Why did you do it?" Hyunjin didn't waste time and immediately asked.

"You also think it was me?" Somi asked bitterly.

"Who else could it be if not you, Jeon Somi?" His voice louder and heavier now. "I told you not to do anything to her right?"

"You also told me that you were not dating her."

"I am not... and as a matter of fact, I'm not engaged with you either. So stop acting like we have something going on."

"Well tell that to your family. They are eager to welcome me as their daughter in law." She smirked arrogantly.

Hyunjin could only mentally curse himself for being born into this money-chasing family. As long as it profited them, they wouldn't mind throwing their own blood under the bus. How many of his older cousins were in unhappy marriages, he knew about it all. And it was because, once the elders decided something it had to happen for sure.

"I'm telling you again, I will never be with you. Even if it means going against everyone in this family."

"Why... I never understood why you hate me so much... am I not pretty enough? Should I lose more weight? Cut my hair?"

"Stop. It's not that I hate you... I just can't see you like that. And I know it won't change." He pinched between his eyebrows squinting in distress. "Why do you keep doing things that might make me really hate you? What did Yeji ever do to you?"
