Julie! Julie! Oh my gosh, why do I have to do this every. Single. Time? "JULIE!" Alex shouted, as she took her pillow and threw it onto her sister.
"Ughhh...why can't you wake me up normally?" Julie groaned.
"I tried! It ain't workin." She shrugged. Julie sat up, and yawned, completely forgetting the fact it was junior year. "So, what're you gonna wear?" Alex asked, as she opened her closet doors. She had a loose white t-shirt on and some pajama pants on. Her blonde hair looked like it was already combed, and her blue eyes looked completely awake. "What're you-oh my gosh, it's the first day of school!" Julie remembered, hopping out of bed.
"Yeah it is! Now, should I go with the pink or the white?"
Alex held up a pink t-shirt with white text and a white t-shirt with pink text. "White?" Julie shrugged.
"What will you where?" Alex said, taking the t-shirt off of its hanger.
"Same as usual.. my ripped black hoody, and my ripped black shirt, with ripped jeans." Julie smirked.
"Really? I mean, I get you love those clothes because they represent our journey and you and Adam and stuff, but on the first day of school?"
Julie shrugged. She loved the outfit. Half of her hoody sleeve was missing, because she ripped it off when her boyfriend Adam cut his head during the summer, and she wrapped it around to bandage the wound. She ripped her shirt sleeves, when he broke his arm during the summer, and she used it to make a sling for him. The jeans had ripped just because they got very worn after fighting zombies, tripping a lot, fighting an evil scientists workers, fighting a Sphinx, and running through a dark forest.
Yes, they had been through a lot this summer. "I don't like dressing up. I like wearing ratty clothes, and these clothes actually represent what I've been through! They come with a story." Julie explained.
"Well, I'm wearing this t-shirt with these cute denim jeans!" Alex smiled. "I think Damie will love it!"
Julie rolled her eyes. A couple of weeks ago, Alex started dating her co-worker at the cafe, Damian. She and him had been all over each other since. "I'm sure he will." Julie agreed. The girls finished getting dressed, and went downstairs to have breakfast. Their mom made eggs, bacon, and French toast! ""Ooh thanks, mom!" Alex said, licking her lips.
"Yeah, thanks mom!" Julie agreed. Her mother looked up at her and sighed. "You're really wearing that?"
"Yes, mom."
Her father looked up from his news paper and glared at her. "I don't appreciate how much you wear that. Things shouldn't be to serious with that boy of yours."
"Dad, he's a nice guy! You'd be a zombie right now if it weren't for him!" She reasoned.
"He still doesn't deserve my daughter. Damian, he ain't dumb enough to get kidnapped just so he can have alone time with my daughter."
"Dad!" The girls shouted in sync. Their father shrugged and went back to reading. "He's got a point." Their mother sighed. Julie rolled her eyes and grabbed a piece of French toast to put in a bag. "I'll eat on the bus."
Alex sighed, and gave her parents the stink-eye.After they were ready, they waited for a few minutes and the bus showed up. Julie was full of excitement. They lived on the edge of town, and so she'd be on the same bus as a whole bunch of kids from the other town, including Adam! Sadly, their friend, Mable, couldn't be with them because she was going away to university, to become a veterinarian.
When they got on the bus, there were already a lot of kids on, but near the back, she saw Adam's almond brown eyes, and instantly headed towards him, not even glancing at anyone else.
Julie sat beside Adam, and Alex sat with some of her friends. "Adam!" She shouted, giving him a hug, followed by a kiss on the cheek.
"Hey!" He smiled, looking her straight in the eyes.
Julie blushed, and took her backpack off and set it on her lap.
