"Ughhhh!" Alex groaned, lying on her bed, causing Julie to sigh, tired of her sister's heartbroken whines.
"So, what happened again?" Julie asked, trying to help her sister get it off her chest.
"I went to the janitors closet for some air, bad idea by the way, it smells like mustard coated tuna in there! Anyway, Damian followed me in there, and he said he doesn't like Ashley, and he'd never cheat! And so I asked if he ever did like her, and he was left speechless. I then asked if he liked her more than me, and he was lost for words. In other words: HE DEFINITELY LIKES ASHLEY!" She groaned. Julie sighed. Their mother came into the room. "Girls, why aren't you ready for school!? Get dressed!" She demanded. Julie looked over at the clock, and saw that the bus would be there in fifteen minutes. "Up! Now!" She demanded, pulling the sheets off of her sister. "You can whine later!"
Julie threw on a white t-shirt and her black ripped hoodie, with some denim jeans that weren't ripped. Alex threw on a black hoodie, which she only ever wore when she was in a mood, and a pair of sweat pants, which she almost never wore. Alex also wore her hair down, which she said showed her emotion rolling down a cliff and into a dark void. Yes, Alex can be quite dramatic when she's at the edge of her relationship.
The girls quickly ate breakfast, and got on the bus. Alex squished into the seat with Julie and Adam, and strangely, Ashley wasn't there to bother them. Instead her friend came to them and asked, "have any of you seen Ashley? She, like, hasn't been responding to my texts and I'm actually kind of worried."
Julie replied with a no, and the girl asked some other kids. "Anyways," Julie said, changing the subject. Is anyone else glad that they made the first day of school a Thursday, so that we only have to suffer two days of school before the weekend?"
"Yep!" Alex smiled, raising her hand.
"Mhm!" Adam agreed. They sat in silence for a few minutes, before they showed up at school. "Alex!" Damian greeted, as they met him in the hallway. Julie gave him a dirty look and Adam clenched his fists, obviously aware of how much a player this guy was, just by looking at him. "Hey, Damie!" Alex smiled, as if nothing had happened between them. Julie tried her hardest to stop her jaw from dropping wide open. No wonder Alex was played so often! She pretended nothing was happening! Julie tried her hardest not to butt in, but obviously Adam didn't try hard enough. "So, Damian. Do you know where Ashley is? Or is she recovering from your 'studying' last night?" Adam teased. Damian's expression turned grim.
" I swear I didn't do that, I promise!" Damian defended.
"I was just joking, man. You know, I don't like you and that seems like something you'd do I was just teasing. The fact you were so defensive makes me more suspicious."
"Adam, quit it." Julie and Alex instructed, in unison.
"Listen, I don't know what your problem is, but I would never cheat on Alex. Besides, I don't know what happened to Ashley. All she did was leave me a weird message." He shrugged.
"You have her on messages? What ever, let me see." Adam said, holding out his hand.
"Sure, just one sec."
Damian already had the message ready on his phone, yet he kept his phone and Adam could see he was scrolling upward. "What do you have to do? You're already on the message. Just show me."
"Right, okay. But only look at that message." Damian mumbled, handing Adam the phone. Julie looked over his shoulder and could see he didn't only look at Ashley's one message. He scrolled upward, and Julie couldn't believe her eyes. He took a screenshot of the conversation and sent it to Alex. He then scrolled back down to the strange message. The strangest thing wasn't even the fact that Ashley called him babe.. "Babe! There's this guy following me! I think he's like totally into me! Lol! Haha #sosvibes! Anyway, I seriously think he's part of NINE ONE ONE! In other words, he probably knows a lot about calls with NINE ONE ONE! Anyway, I might go missing tomorrow, but lol I'm probably getting busy with this guy! #cutestalker! Love you, babe" Adam read aloud, mocking Ashley's voice. Julie giggled at his impression.
"So, Damian you're saying she could be murdered or um...worse..by this stranger?" Alex recalled.
"Well, uh...yeah, I guess so." Damian shrugged.
"Are we going to ignore the fact she called him babe twice and told her she loves him?" Julie gasped.
"Well, that's just Ashley..i-it's not like Damie calmed her babe! Besides, I think we should call 911.." Alex said, pushing away her problems.
"Let's not jump to conclusions. Ashley is very dramatic. She might be fine! If she isn't back by tomorrow, we show that message to the cops." Adam suggested. The others nodded. "Until then, we should head to class." They all headed to class, and met up and lunch again.
