The life of a teenage hero

Adam

Adam and Julie walked the streets, and they interrogated people that Ashely knew, when Adam had and interesting thought. Aaron said that the kidnapper was kidnapping blonde girls, dark haired girls, and brown haired boys. Blonde- Alex. Dark haired- Mable and Julie. Brown haired- Adam. He explained the thought to Julie, and she gasped. "Well, who would not be arrested and still be out to get us?" Julie murmured. Adam and her gasped at the same time. "Josh!" They realized, in unison.
     "We have to tell the others!" Julie recommended.
     "Just wait! We don't know if it's him, we can't jump to conclusions.."
     A shriek sounded in the distance, and a blonde teen came running towards them, with blood splattered on her face. She was sobbing her eyes out, and bolting as fast as she could. It was Ashley.. "OMG MICHAELA!!!" She screamed. "ADAM!? JULIE!?"
     Adam felt so confused and worried for Ashley. What had just happened!? And what happened to Ashley's friend, Michaela?
     Ashley ran to Adam, and rushed into his arms, hugging him. She sobbed into his embrace, and even Julie looked horrified at seeing Ashley in this state. "Hey, it's okay!" Adam comforted, holding her as she trembled.
     "She's... she's... she's dead.." she cried.
     Adam and Julie looked at each other, with horror in their eyes. This guy in the dog mask was killing people!? How much longer did Mackie have? "C'mon, Ashley." Adam suggested, helping her to walk. They went to Julie's and asked Ashley about everything that had happened. "The guy with the dog face... he had a knife.. there were a whole bunch of girls there, and even some guys. My friend Michaela and I managed to escape and he... HE KILLED HER!" Ashley shrieked. Adam felt horrified. Did he want to be messing with this person? Julie leaned on Adam, and her eyes were tearing up. "Are you 100% sure she's dead?" Adam shuddered.
     "Well.. he threw the knife, it hit her back, and I saw the blade sticking out of her stomach and-"
      "Okay, that's enough." Julie sighed. "Do you know the dog man's name?"
     "It's Alex's ex, Josh."
     Adam felt the sudden urge to go gun shopping. "Adam, go call Alex and tell her what's going on. Tell her that we know where Mackie is." Julie directed.
     Adam went into the kitchen, and he called Alex. "Hey Adam!" She greeted.
     "Hey, Alex. Listen.. we found Ashely.." Adam sighed.
     "Is she okay!?"
     "Yeah, but her friend Michaela is dead! This dog guy is willing to kill.. and about him. The man behind the mask is Josh."
     Alex's breath wasn't suddenly shaky over the  phone, and Adam could hear Jack's voice in the background. "Josh is... Josh is killing people?" She cried.
     "Yes.." I shuddered.
     "Where is he!? That freaking dumb ass can face me, I'd he wants to hurt Alex and then hurt innocent teens." Jack scoffed.
     "Blondie! Language!" Alex gasped.
     "I meant the donkey meaning of ass!"
     "Guys, don't! This is way more dangerous than we thought. We have to get the police involved."
     "No, that guy's done! We're going now! We're already on the road, Aaron and Mable gave us the address." Jack argued.
     "Guys-"
     They hung up. Adam walked back into the living room, and Julie looked at him, expecting answers. "You're sister and Jack are walking into a death trap.."
     "What..? I-I need to call them!" Julie gasped.
     "Julie-"
     Julie was already gone into the other room. Adam turned to Ashley, who was bawling her eyes out. Adam couldn't imagine seeing one of his best friends being stabbed straight through the stomach, and having their blood splatter onto his face. He sat beside her, and wrapped his arm around her, comfortingly. "Adam... I still love you.." she cried. Adam's eyes widened. He didn't have any feelings for Ashley. He never did. "Ashley, I know you're really scared right now but-"
     "I love you!" She sobbed, grabbing his neck, and kissing him. He didn't even know what to do. He felt like such a self entitled jerk to push her off, but he had a girlfriend! A girlfriend he had actual feelings for. He lightly pushed her off, and he turned to see Julie staring at them, with her eyes full of heart break. "Julie-" Adam started.
     "It's nothing.. it's.. it is what it is.. if you like Ashley, you like Ashley.. I um.. I didn't get an answer.. so I'm gonna call Mable and Aaron now, to see what's going on back at the college.." she mumbled, looking crushed. Adam couldn't believe what he had done. Sure, it wasn't like he kissed Ashley back or anything, but what if Julie thought he did? She thought he liked Ashley.. "Why would you kiss me?" He muttered.
     "We love each other!" She sniffled.
     "I'm sorry Ashley, I don't love you." He sighed.
     She looked at the ground, heartbroken.
