Alex hated everything about what had just happened. Ashley was missing, Adam was being a little over protective, and Damian was possibly cheating on her! And For the first time in a while, she had no idea what to do.. "Alex? Can I talk to you? Alone?" Damian sighed, ignoring the deathly glare Adam was giving him.
"Sure.." Alex smiled, hiding the worry behind her words.
They walked over to the boot room, that no one was in, and Damian sighed. "What's wrong?" Alex asked, having her smile begin it fade.
"I... it's about Ashley... Adam sent you something from my phone."
Alex grabbed her phone, and was shocked to see the images he sent. "What the heck is this?" She asked, looking at him, with her eyes full of hate.
"I.."
"Ashley says, hey babe! And you reply with hey! So are we still on for the movies?
You're kidding right?
Yeah, totally! So, did you do it?
No, she's just too nice!
Do it, babe! It's me or her!
Okay, I'll break up with Alex.
Damian... this was weeks ago.."
"I- um.. I just- listen,"
"No! You freaking liar! You've been cheating for more than weeks now and you haven't even confessed yet! We're freaking done!" She choked, holding back tears as she stormed away from him. Why did she always go for the traitors?
As she stepped into the hallway, she bumped into the same blonde boy from yesterday. "Hey, cupcake. You just can't stop falling for me, can you?" He smirked, helping her off the ground.
"Don't call me cupcake.." she said, wiping tears away.
"Oh, I'm sorry..what happened?"
"What do you care?"
"I...never mind. I'll see you around, cupcake." He winked. Alex could feel her face get hot. He did not help her feel any better. She walked back to the cafeteria, and Adam and Julie immediately frowned when they saw Damian wasn't with her. "Well?" Julie sighed.
"I broke up with him..he's a cheater." She sighed.
"That loser. Well, it's for the better. There are way better guys out there, you'll find the one." Adam assured her. She smiled. Adam was like an older brother for her all summer. It was very helpful. Julie sat beside her and hugged her. "Thanks.." she sighed. "So, do we have any plans for this weekend?"
"We were thinking of calling Mable and seeing if she wanted to hang out." Julie shrugged.
"Yeah, that sounds good."
Alex really wanted to talk to Mable. If anyone could cheer her up, it was Mable. Alex sighed and looked around the cafeteria, wishing she'd see Mable. Instead the blonde boy from the hallway caught her eye. He looked like he was fighting with a girl. Probably his girlfriend. She pushed him away and stomped away, and he looked very heartbroken. Alex hardly knew him as other than that annoying boy from the hallways, but she felt kind of bad for him. "I'll be right back." She sighed. She walked over to him, as he sat alone at his table. "Hey, blondie." She teased.
He wiped away a tear and smiled. "Hey, cupcake. Where'd that name come from?"
"Well, you're a blonde and I needed some sort of pet name for you."
"I gotta be honest, I hate that name." He chuckled.
"Well, that's the point." She said, sitting beside him.
"So... are you warming up to me, cupcake?" He smirked.
"No, I'm just telling you that if you don't stop calling me cupcake, a lot more people will be calling you blondie." She giggled. He smiled. "So, back to annoying you?"
"Yeah, sure, if it makes you feel better."
"Well, if faking that you don't like me makes you feel better, then I'll let you continue doing it." He smirked, leaning closer.
"And that's over! See you around, blondie."
"See you, cupcake."
I definitely won't be falling for him. He's such a flirt. She thought, as she walked away. They finished lunch and headed to their next classes. Alex had phys. ed, and she was pretty excited for it. As soon as she walked into class, she saw the blonde boy again. She rolled her eyes. "Hey, cupcake." He flirted.
"My name isn't cupcake, blondie." She squinted. His friends laughed at him, and he smiled at her. She gave him a small glare, and she continued to walk into the gymnasium. She was looking around the room, and ran into the last person she wanted to see. "Alex! Listen," Damian tried. "Shut it! I don't want to hear your excuses." She snapped.
"Alex, I was so stupid! I-I don't know what I was thinking!"
"Damian, it's over! I don't want to hear it.. you cheated and I will never forgive you."
Damian stared at the ground, and Alex did her best not to cry. "Alright, guys c'mon! Gather around!" The teacher instructed. "Class is starting!"
Everyone stood in front of her and she gave instructions for class. "You'll pick a partner and you'll be each other's fitness partner. I set of workout stations around the gym, pick a partner and come to me."
For whatever reason, Alex immediately glanced over to the blonde boy and he looked at her. "Hey, cupcake." He grinned, as he walked over.
"Hi, blondie." She joked.
"I know you just can't resist me, so I guess I'll be your partner."
"I bumped into you two times, on accident, and I only came to you at lunch because your heart had a boo-boo." She corrected.
He smiled. They went throughout the entire class like this. Him insisting that she liked him and calling her cupcake, and her rolling her eyes and saying how much she hated him, while calling him blondie.
