Pathaan and Meghna find the CEO’s office after walking a little bit more. Meghna opens the door with the keycard she had stolen earlier. They enter the office and put the lights on.
It was a lavish space with a Mahogany desk in the centre littered with files, papers and a computer.
Pathaan walks up and takes a sit on the chair and relaxes. Meghna throws her purse in his lap in frustration and starts rummaging through the drawers trying to find the ledger. She finds a red book but all the pages are blank.
Pathaan swivels in his chair,
"It’s the 21st century Meg, it won’t be an old style ledger."They lock eyes for a moment. Both taken back by the name. Meg. It was a slip of tongue. Amar had burried that name a long time ago. All it took, was for her to stand in front of him again, and it all came flooding back.
He turns back and switches the computer on. Thankfully it was not password protected. Pathaan goes through the files and folders and finds the ledger. He shares a look with Meghna who is hovering over his shoulder now.
"I'm a genius !" Meghna exclaims, taking the credit for herself.
Pathaan chuckles at that.
She quickly plugs in the pendrive she was carrying to copy the files.-----
On the other side, the building Security guards, that were already looking for the gallery intruder realize the south side security feed of the floor is looped. They send in more guards to look through each room.
-----
In the CEO's office, the contents are 99% copied when a guard pushes through the office door. He looks around, the computer is turned off and nothing is out of place. But he misses the two people crouching under the huge Mahogany desk.
Three more guards follow the previous one into the room. Meghna quickly adjusts her dress and tears the slit further allowing her space for movement. Pathaan turns around at the sound, darting his eyes between her exposed thigh and her face with a questioning look. She just shrugs.
They do a quick countdown and launch at the guards, taking on 2 at a time. After quickly rendering all of them unconscious, they make a bee line for the stairs to head downstairs.
-----
Meanwhile, more guards start combing through every room on the floor below. The guards hear some giggles from one of the conference rooms. One burly guy knocks down the door.
He finds a woman sitting on the conference table in disheveled hair, with a man in a completely unbuttoned white shirt standing between her legs.
"You two need to get out right now!" The guard barks.
"Oh sorry! yes we're leaving." The guy in the white shirt, Pathaan, turns around shielding the Meghna behind him.
"We just got caught up-" the woman fibs trying to control her giggles, as she collects her purse and the guy’s jacket.
The couple scurries out of the room giggling, hand in hand as the guards watch them.
-----
Once they are outside the building, the smiles are immediately dropped. Meghna gets to work and plugs the pendrive into her phone and takes enough time to go through the contents.
Pathaan snatches the pendrive from her hands, and walks away. Nothing more is said. Meghna had already copied the data onto her device, so she doesn’t follow him either.

Author's note: maybe long? Maybe interesting? Maybe hasty? This was initially written to fit in with the spy universe theme but I'm more of a thriller/drama kind of a person than an action fan.
