Amar couldn't believe what Meghna was saying. She must have gotten the wrong name. He gets up from the sofa and rakes his hand through his hair.

Maulana Abul was the same man who had shown him mercy and kindness when his parents had abandoned him in that movie theatre all those years ago. He was the one who had taken him in and raised him like a son until he could make it on his own in the world. He knew Maulana Abul, as the kind hearted priest at the mosque who would distribute sweets among the kids on Sundays. And Meghna was standing here and accusing him of something so heinous, surely she was mistaken.

"What- no that can't be true. You must be mis-"

“No Amar. I have faced death head on. I know what I saw, I'm not mistaken."
Meghna rises up with a bolt. She knew this would happen once she revealed to Amar who LUCIFER really was.

"I've seen that face every time I've slept in the last 10 years. I can't forget the face.” Meghna replied in a haste before he could complete his statement.

This is why she didn’t want to come to him. She knew he would never trust her on this. And it broke her heart to reveal the devil’s face to him when he knew a completely different side of him. When he looks up to Maulana as a father figure.

“Meghna- this is hard for me to believe. I want to trust you, but I can’t believe LUCIFER to be Maulana Abul.” He says helplessly.

“Then come with me. Let me show you. I’ve just received confirmation from my sources that he is going to be at the warehouse tonight along with the mole. You can see it with your own eyes." She almost pleads.

"Come with- Meghna you're in no shape to leave right now. You need rest after what happened yesterday."

"Not this time. I have a very short window of opportunity. And- and you are going to come along right? You can call your team for back up as well, we can hand LUCIFER and the mole to the organisation.” Meghna counters.

“Um.. about that. Colonel Luthra has issued an order to capture you. I don’t think the team would be of any help to us.”

“What about Rubai? She trusts you right? Wouldn’t she help?” Meghna questions immediately.

Cogs were turning in Meghna’s head now. This was her one chance to catch LUCIFER and she couldn’t afford to lose it. She had to do it for the innocent people and her country. It was ironic, how the same "country" left her and her team for dead, but here she was, trying to apprehend it's enemy.

Amar appears to be in thought for a while before he replies,

“Yes she does, and I think we can get Kabir to help us too. Let me call them.” He gets to work immediately.

<At a remote Wearhouse: LUCIFER's lair>

Maulana, a man in his 60s, walks into the room, flanked by his men.

"Is the transport arrangement done for tonight? The consignments need to be shipped out of the country immediately." He asks one of the men.

"Yes Sir ji! All things are going on as planned. But-"

"But what?"

"Sir ji, I think you should've not let the girl go back then. You having a soft spot-"

"HOW DARE YOU! I've spent decades building my network right under the noses of  Indian authorities. A  slight hiccup named Meghna can't derail my plans."

"But sir, Pathaan is also with her this time."

"That is why you were in place since the beginning 'Special Agent Ajay Verma'. But alas, I have to take care of things myself."

LUCIFER mocks the guy. He was his mole in JOCR. LUCIFER's day time job as a Maulana provided him enough security and freedom, so that he would not be a suspect. And Ajay was placed in JOCR so that his operations could run smoothly without a hitch. But in a way, he had failed to neutralize Meghna and keep Pathaan in check.

But they didn't have time to reminisce about that now. They had to get the consignment out of the country first. He would take care of those two later.

Author's note: since we believe in recycling, When you read LUCIFER/Maulana Abul - imagine Anupam Kher's face. When you read Ajay Verma - imagine Nawab Shah (Raghav from dilwale).
