--~*~--Meghna was standing on the porch of their sea facing home with a cup of coffee in her hands. It was a bright and windy day today. She could see the waves breaking at the shore clearly from the porch. She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply. When she opened them again, she saw her neighbor Ethan coming over with a bunch of flowers in his hands.
“Hey Ethan, Good morning!”
“Good morning Meg!” he entered their front yard looking around and being cautious as if he was expecting to be attacked any moment.
“Oh don't worry, he’s still sleeping."
Meghna smiled at his antics, knowing who he was looking out for.
“Oh good. I was actually here to invite you both for barbeque this evening. Hope you’ll come?” Ethan sounded relieved and hopeful at the same time.
“For sure Ethan, we’re more than happy to join you.” Meghna gave him a bright smile.
“Great! These are for you by the way.” Ethan hands her the flowers.
“Thanks Ethan they’re beautiful.”
“Pas aussi belle que toi senorita.”
Ethan winked at her and tuned around and walked out of the gate shouting “See you later at the barbque.” Meghna simply smiled at the man and then at the flowers in her hand.
Soon a pair of arms had engulfed her in a hug from behind, and a good morning kiss was dropped on the side of her neck. Her smile only widened as she melted into the hug.
“You know I hate it when he calls you that.” She felt Amar's gruff voice though her body, more than heard it.
“You know, he knows that you hate it?” She asked with a smirk playing on her face now.
“Yeah? Does he know I can break him 70 different ways with just those flowers?”
Meghna gasps and turns in his arms.
“Shut up! We should be nice to our neigbours!” she lightly slaps his arm.
“Well, then the neighbors should be nice too!” Amar retorts.
“They are!”
“They’re not. May be Mrs. Smith is nice, she brings me pies, but Ethan’s not.” Amar pouts and Meghna rolls her eyes.
“They are both nice. And besides, I don’t care how our neighbors are. I’ve got everything I need, right here.”
That puts a smile on his face and he lowers his head and stands on her toes to meet him halfway for a sweet kiss.

<somewhere in a brightly lit office cabin>
Colonel Luthra watches, his laptop screen playing a live feed of a couple standing on their porch and laughing about something.
“Are they going to be called in sir?” Rishi, standing next to him asks.
“No. They’ve earned it.” He clicks on the stop button to close the feed for the last time.
