Third person Pov

The ball had been going on for about an hour now and both queens were satisfied with the progress the two seemed to be making. "You think they'll go through with the marriage?" Queen dot asks one of the guards who shrugged in response. Darrian then walked over to the snack table and was met with a boy who gave a big smile.

The two boys started talking and after they exchanged names darrian learned his name was Kyle and they ended up outside talking about everything. "You still have a choice on if you end up marrying him right?" Kyle asks. "Yes but I know everyone will be very angry with me if I don't go through with this marriage" darrian says.

"So what? Would you rather be at war with the world or at peace with yourself?" Kyle asks and darrian sighed before an arm was wrapped around him. "Let me ask you something do you like Ethan" Kyle asks and Darrian's eyes widen and he let out a big laugh. "What? Please I hate him and he hates me" Darrian says.

Ethan was looking for darrian and looked outside seeing darrian with some dude. Ethan raised an eyebrow at the position they were in. Ethan talked to girls on a daily so he didn't exactly feel a way about darrian talking to somebody at least he shouldn't. Ethan shook the thought away and walked off going back to the table.

Darrian came inside and turned to his mom who gave him a look. It was one last dance of the night which belonged to darrian and Ethan. The two held each other and began to move to the music not making eye contact. All eyes were on them once again and they both hated it. In everyone's eyes they could see false hope.

Everyone expecting them to someday wed which they both were sure wasn't happening. "Shocked you made it inside in time" Ethan comments making darrian raise an eyebrow. "Why is that?" Darrian asks. "Figured you'd be out with yo boyfriend and ditch the rest of this party" Ethan says and darrian frowned in annoyance.

"He's not my boyfriend I just met him tonight and even if he was why would you care you literally always sneaking out to see all these random girlfriends of yours" darrian comments before Ethan spins him. "I don't care" Ethan says and darrian put on a fake smile. "Then why'd you feel the need to bring it up?" Darrian asks.

"I just did now shut up" Ethan says and darrian rolled his eyes but did as told not in the mood.
