Before you could blink a year had passed by and the first snowfall had begun. Since the day you got your sword you've been sent on countless missions to exterminate demons. Over the year you have risen to the rank of Tsuchinoe and have even built a small name for yourself, the "Silver fox". At first you thought that nickname was ridiculous, but soon you grew to feel like it was fitting.
It has also been a while since you've last seen Giyu, since most of your missions required you to be solo or with other fellow demon slayers, rumor has it that Ubuyashiki is considering making Giyu a Hashira soon. You couldn't help but be proud of Giyu, you knew that Sabito's passing took a huge effect on him so seeing him grow as a demon slayer and even being considered to become a Hashira was a big deal. Speaking of Hashira, another boy had popped into your head.
Sanemi Shinazugawa, from what you heard from a fellow Demon Slayer is that he became a Hashira a few months ago. You knew the chances of seeing him were low since he was a Hashira now, but you couldn't help hope that your paths would cross soon. The last time you saw him was during the Final Selection when you gave you Sabito's belongings. You ran your finger to the inside of your Snow Haori where the hair pin that Sanemi had given you years ago was located. You brought it with you every where and it would constantly bring you reassurance when you were down. Your eyes wandered to the house in front of you, you finally made it home.
Your pace quickened excited to greet Urokodaki after not seeing him for 2 months. You see Urokodaki was standing in the front of the house collecting firewood. You decided to sneak behind Urokodaki for a sneak attack and hide on top of a tree branch ready to jump, but sadly you were fast enough because Urokodaki was able to catch you by the foot just as you jumped off.
"ARGGHH", you screamed.
Urokodaki smirked, "Looks like someone still need to work on their stealth if you want to sneak up on this old man."
You pouted at his remark, "It's hard to catch you by surprise! You notice everything!"
Urokodaki put you gently on the floor and offered you a hand to help you up which you gratefully took.
"Welcome back my child", Urokodaki said.
You smiled back and give him a big hug, "I'm home."
You offered to carry the firewood and followed Urokodaki inside the house. You sat the firewood down next to the heater and began to feed the flames with the wood. You went off to tell Urokodaki all the missions your went through in the last two months and even the silly new nickname every one has been referring you as. Urokodaki nodded in approval of the nickname and said it fit you nicely.
Night time had come and you bid Urokodaki good night. You layed down on the futon and it didn't take long for you to fall asleep. It was finally morning and the sun shown through the window of your room causing you to wake up from the bright light. You yawned lightly and made yourself get up from bed. Picking up your futon and placed it back in the closet then making your way to the kitchen. You spotted Urokodaki already in the table eating breakfast with your breakfast already set up.
You nodded towards Urokodaki, "Thank you for breakfast."
He acknowledged your thanks and you both began to eat the breakfast.
Urokodaki looked at you and began to speak, "Giyu was here a week prior and he mentioned that Ubuyashiki has formally asked Giyu to become the Water Hashira."
You stopped mid bite and your eyes lit up from surprise, "Really?! That's great! Last I heard he was was being considered, but i'm happily that it has become official now."
Urokodaki nodded, "Hopefully soon you'll be next, it would be an honor to have both of my students become Hashira."
You laughed, "Maybe someday."
